I mentioned Rick Perrys DREAM Act debate blunder in my round-up post.
It gets second place.
The cringe-worthiest moment, by a hair, was when Perry botched what should have been his most potent attack on Mitt Romneys chronic flip-flopping. As I noted on Twitter when it happened, any random high schooler at the CPAC conference in Washington could have done better than this.
If this is how Perrys going to take Obama on in debates, were in trouble. Someone inject him with some Red Bull and a dash of Herman Cains personality.
**snip**
Perry said hes in favor of making English the official language of the U.S. Perhaps he should concentrate on mastering it before the next debate

That’s because this man is just not very smart, period.
we are all here laughing that you think debates matter.
99% of the population doesn’t watch or care about the debates.
That moment was the most important moment of the debate, because even though he executed it poorly, Perry tipped his hand and we got a peak at how he will destroy Romney in the ads people see while they are watching their football games or American Idol.
Perry will attack and decimate Romney as a flip flopper, just wait, watch, and learn.
...cause he sure shot himself in the foot last night!
Yep that is about all I can see they got...
Hair today, gone tomorrow...
You really believe that?
Oh good grief. Michelle Malkin the idiot that lectured that if we even comment on the birth certificate we ‘look’ like fringe. Screw her.
And NO, Perry did not commit Hari Kari, but he definitely needs a debate coach. He’s not a glib smoothe talking slick con man like Mitt, or even Michelle Bachmann, who is lying through her teeth with her attacks on Merck and Gardasil. And she’s going to have to be exposed. Perry’s team should’ve taken care of that last night. Newt’s a teacher and a trained communicator of information. I love Newt but you can’t trust him with the money.
Perry almost had me til last night. Now not so much.
ego problem?? The gov. who proposed elimination of the income tax and grew a small business into a 1000 person company was outstanding!
So, you're going with that spin this morning, eh?
Please don’t shoot the messengers.
I see very little difference between Perry and Romney except that Romney is a much better speaker. Perry is reminiscent of GW Bush in speaking style and ability.
Santorum, Cain and Newt are all fabulous speakers with better conservative credentials. Bachmann just doesn’t seem ready for the job (to me) and Huntsman is too liberal.
Ron Paul is just nuts. I love listening to him, but he’s nuts.
Perry sucked, sure did. I admit it. I wish Cain could do better. Santorum and his poor boy schtick wasn’t good, but I like him.
I still have to back Perry at the moment.
I can’t stand Romney, but I could hold my nose like I did for McCain.
That might go over big in cattle country, now somebody ought to tell Perry he's not in Texas anymore.
He looks stiff and talks incoherently, when he's not calling us names, that is. He sure didn't stumble on that one!
He's imploding.
..that they are heartless.
....because they don't support his embrace of tuition funding of illegals......
..will not be forgotten!
Wife watched it I passed on it. Glad I did. I'd have had my shoe smack in the middle of my TV screen.
If you watch a rerun of the debate keep your eyes on Perry’s hands.
When he is on solid ground and confident of his position he is very outgoing and expressive; he becomes animated and his hands fly all around emphasizing his words.
When he is uncertain or on thin ice his demeanor becomes reserved; he seems to shrink behind the podium, his hands remain on the podium top, he locks his fingers together and he fidgets around with his thumbs and fingers.
So Michelle Malkin's an idiot now?
What is wrong with Rick Perry? I mean, c’mon man, how long has he been in politics now? Has he always been this nervous and a bad debater? I was for him, now I’m hoping against hope that SP gets in.
I just don’t get how he could have got this far with the way he was trippin all over his lips last night. So disappointed. Tell ya what, I won’t be watching the debates if he’s the nominee, I’d just cry watchin him, dang
“ego problem?? The gov. who proposed elimination of the income tax and grew a small business into a 1000 person company was outstanding!”
At the end of the debate, I felt most positive about the performances of Johnson, Cain, and, surprisingly to me, Santorum.
