Full title: Perry: "I Don't Think You Have a Heart" If You Oppose In-State Tuition for Children of Illegal Immigrants
Perry's response was forceful and personal. "I don't think you have a heart," Perry told his critics.
"If you say that we should not educate children who come into our state for no other reason than that they've been brought their through no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart," Perry said. "We need to be educating these children because they will become a drag on our society. I think that's what Texans wanted to do. Out of 181 members of the Texas legislature when this issue came up [there were] only four dissenting votes. This was a state issue. Texas voted on it. And I still support it today."

No, just add it together and you are a heartless racist. ;)
Perry’s pandering to illegals makes it so that I will never vote for him in a primary. If he’s the candidate (God forbid) I will have to think very deeply. I am beyond sick of voting for a RINO/nutjob/wimp because it’s either the r/n/w or a Dem.
Oh, goody....another “doing the jobs Americans won’t do” guy....
You agree with my point that the U.S. citizens, who are under severe economic stress want illegal immigration under control. We have those in this country who feel free to criticize their fellow Americans and call them heartless but they have no comment about the selfishness of the illegals who would not return home to their native country and help their fellow citizens. I think we have a lot of people in this country who just do not understand the stress our country is under economically.
Thanks, Jim.
I wouldn't argue with that. What do you do with the children brought here as minors, or infants?
I too like Palin but make no mistake Palin has some baggage when it comes to the illegal alien invasion issue and how to handle the massive problem. She is measurably (or maybe marginally) better than Perry at least on the issue. There are currently no Republican candidates willing to stake out a position that most of of us conservatives want to see which is to enforce the current laws on the books regarding immigration.
Thy all in their own way cater to differing degrees to the illegal alien community and just give varying amounts of lip service to enforcing our laws. But we citizens can still work to hold their feet to the fire and work to keep them in line.
Than why dont you run? Where is your 10 out 10 pick? And please dont say Sarah. She is not running.

I considered it last election. Right now I don’t have anyone I really like. Easier to name those I don’t as nearly every week one of them gets crossed off the list
No, it isn’t Palin - she isn’t running and I doubt she will.
Not Romeny - NEVER!
Not Hunstman
Not Perry
McCotter’s gone
Not Newt (would love to take a class from him but he has shown he is weak in leadership).
Not sure on Bachmann, or Santorum.
I like Cain the best so far, but I don’t think he can get enough traction, sadly.
Who did I miss?
Complete nonsense. Romney is not OBAMA. Absolutely ridiculous.
Romney is calling for tax cuts, Obama for tax increases...how are they the same?
Just because Romney supported health care in a similar fashion to Obama on one issue does not make them the same on all issues. By using your logic, Perry is the same as Obama because they both love the DREAM Act for illegals.
It’s nonsense logic. Romney differs with Obama on almost every major issue, how that equates to them being the same is mind boggling.
I will vote for son of sam, Vandersloot, Madoff, Manson, Gein, or menedex\z Bros over Obama.
A word to the wise, tread carefully if you're promoting LDS Romney around here. He is persona-non-grata around here due to his liberal politics.
I think he thought you said it because you forgot to italicize the point you were referring to in post #399. So, it was an honest mistake on his part.
If they did not graduate from Texas High Schools, then they should not get the in state tuition rates.

If they were already citizens, they wouldn’t have needed to pass a law to allow them to get instate rates.

CHRIS WALLACE, FOX NEWS: Congresswoman Bachmann, as you well know, a number of states are trying to crack down on illegal immigration. We got a bunch of questions on immigration like this one from Tim Emerson, this is a text question so you dont need to look up there. Tim Emerson of California.
He wrote this, would you support each state enforcing the immigration laws since the federal government is not?
Congresswoman, could you answer Tims question? And if your answer is yes, how do you square that with the constitution which says that congress has the power to establish a uniform rule of naturalization?
BACHMANN: Well, the reason why hes asking this question is because the federal government has failed the American people and has failed the states. Its reprehensible that President Obama has sued the state of Arizona and the governor of Arizona for trying to protect the people in Arizona. Thats wrong.
(APPLAUSE)
BACHMANN: As president of the United States, I would do what my job would demand of me. Thats to uphold the sovereignty of the United States of America.
To do that, I would build a fence on Americas southern border on every mile, on every yard, on every foot, on every inch of the southern border. I think thats what we have to do, not only build it, but then also have sufficient border security and enforce the laws that are on the books with the ICE agents, with our border security.
And heres the other thing I would do. I would not allow taxpayer-funded benefits for illegal aliens or for their children.
(APPLAUSE)
BACHMANN: Thats a madness. End the madness for illegal aliens to come into the United States of America.
WALLACE: Congresswoman, thank you.
Bachmann is naturally the exception to what I alluded to but realistically her chances to even be around for the primaries is what? Perhaps less than 10% chance to even be around. Too bad to. She was my first choice.
I am for arming Border patrols and Military to shoot those who cross.

Just like we would do with any other invading army. And make no mistake, the influx of illegals IS an invading army.
I did in the post above. Go reread it and then tell me when and where Palin ever said borders were silly, etc.
90%. That isn’t lumping all of them but that is by far the vast majority. And your categories are not mutually exclusive.
If they were born there, they are citizens there. Send them back. It is what Mexico would do to an illegal in their country.
If they want to do the right thing, let them go back and apply for a green card. Let them come here legally.
I blame everyone, including those who think that illegal aliens just want a better life.
And yes they should have been arrested and deported, but the police protect them. I had an illegal steal some checks from a business account, write them as paychecks to himself, cash them. My bank caught it and they were returned. The DA went after ME for writing bad checks, and never went after the guy even though he had outstanding warrants.
The police are often complicit in this.
