Perry: "I Don't Think You Have a Heart" If You Oppose In-State Tuition for Children of Illegal

Full title: Perry: "I Don't Think You Have a Heart" If You Oppose In-State Tuition for Children of Illegal Immigrants

Perry's response was forceful and personal. "I don't think you have a heart," Perry told his critics.

"If you say that we should not educate children who come into our state for no other reason than that they've been brought their through no fault of their own, I don't think you have a heart," Perry said. "We need to be educating these children because they will become a drag on our society. I think that's what Texans wanted to do. Out of 181 members of the Texas legislature when this issue came up [there were] only four dissenting votes. This was a state issue. Texas voted on it. And I still support it today."

Got news for you.

A path to citizenship is amnesty.

Out of all the folks I watched tonight my choice is Cain hands down; he seems to have a very accurate BS-ometer when it comes to people, jobs, taxes and who our allies really are. Of the rest of the rubber heads, only Bachman and Santorum seemed to have their heads screwed on right. I would prefer Palin for president but she isn’t running, YET. But of the ones I saw tonight that is my take.

Sneaking across the border and having a baby should not make the child a citizen of the country who’s laws you have violated.

But we do make them citizens. It is a misreading of the 14th amendment, but that is the situation we face. So how do we deal with the problem?

Is there any candidate who would actually say we should deport every one of the illegal aliens now? I don't think so.

IMHO the Texas Dream Act is no big deal at all. It deals with a problem created by Washington. It deals with it on a State Level. Texas can't deport these people, so why not just educate them?

Bottom line, Mexico is responsible for Mexicans. I have Mexican friends and I feel bad for the crap they deal with. But it’s their crap. It’s their job to deal with it.

If that means ‘dumping them’ on that side of the border, so be it. It sucks out loud for them and it’s an ugly thing to contemplate. But I’d rather all of them got ‘dumped’ (and all that stops that is our collective will to make it happen) that a single citizen being cut out of a job, a place in class or a measly tax dollar.

If we are a sovereign nation, we have a border. If that border exists, we remain a sovereign nation. If it is in existence only or at the whim of/when it suits a bleeding heart or politician, we are nothing. War is hell. Immigration is hell. Life sucks. But nations exist, and borders exist or they don’t.

You are either for a secure border and all that implies or you are not. There is NO middle ground or moral high road to battle over. Some on this thread need to realize that founding principal of ANY nation, including our own.

it seems to be an issue of educated or uneducated illegals. I’m not sure which is worse.

- - - - - -
They are the same. Educated illegals can’t get jobs without committing other crimes like identity theft. Although they might be more willing to move back to Mexico...nah that will never happen we give them too many handouts.

It’s all working out for you Romney people.

FR is a lost cause, IMO, and will lead to another term for Obama.

Doesn’t seem to work that way in real life. As you said

“We feel the flow of illegal immigration all the way up in the NE, and it isn’t flowing down from Canada.”

Why run closer to the place you escaped?

They are children of people who broke laws (which are not being enforced) and who have not committed any crimes on their own.

- - - - -
Re-read my post. They are criminals in their own right.

And yes, we should dump them back to Mexico. I left CA because I was tired of illegals who drained our resources, crowded our schools, got full scholarships to a University I taught at and I was told to ‘go easier’ on them grade-wise, filled up our hospital ERs and didn’t have to pay a dime.

These kids aren’t victims any more than their parents are.

My mother shouldn’t have to carry a gun on her own property because these ‘innocent’ kids (in your eyes) threaten her with baseball bats every day.

No matter how you slice it. The phrase, path to citizenship, equates to amnesty. Always has been and always will be. It may a nuanced position for Palin and it may not be blanket amnesty. But it is amnesty, nonetheless.

From the same 2008 interview:

Q: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 million undocumented immigrants?

A: No, I do not. Not total amnesty.

She also said that the undoced would go to the back of the line and that means. in reality. they never get in because the LEGAL applicants of which there is an unending number always get to cut ahead.

If that is what Palin believes, she is very gullible. "Immigration Reform" is always worse than advertised. Reagan believed that Ted Kennedy and company would keep their word in 1986.

Hi reaganaut!

If you heard/saw the Republican Debate last night, please go and vote: http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2011/09/22/who-won-debate/ I have a theory that the deck is being stacked!

Thank you!

Not voting for a lying statist non-Christian like Romney isn’t a vote for Zero.

Why can’t you idiots get that through your thick skull. The GOP is the one feeding us these libs.

This time it is about principle. As a Christian, I will not vote for Romney, PERIOD. If I do, then I am going against my faith and that is more important than politics.
