“There is NOTHING WORSE THAN AMNESTY!!”

See post 1901. Everybody has a “worse thing in the world” issue. Stay home on election day and help re-elect the actual “worse thing in the world”.

“Last night Perry openly admitted putting his ‘heart’ before the American taxpayer. THAT is exactly what he will do as President.”

Yep, that was stupid. So give me Obama!

Your thoughts on post #1901?

Perry openly admitted putting his ‘heart’ before the American taxpayer. THAT is exactly what he will do as President.

Like Backman he was sounding more like a dad running for office than a formidable candidate against Obama in that comment.

It's a dangerous thing to make decisions based on "feelings". The more Perry talks about the gardasal issue the more it's apparent it was a political and money move for him....already shown his facts were not presented accurately in his justifying his reasoning for mandating those innoculations. Just "business" as usual.

Well that would put a huge fly in the ointment! HAve to look further on that note of cap and trade....I oppose completely and it’s bogus.

However...the border issue is a great concern now...I don’t think cap and trade is going to go the direction the libs had hoped for...and we can fight that if it tries to raise it’s ugly head again.

“Cain really is something special. He seems to have a temperment, tone, maturity, and dignity about him that others lack. Hard to explain”

Agree 100% - I very close to voting for him, he has the core values to be a good President.

You said you read the thread, but your post tellingly omitted Herman Cain, despite the ubiquitous expressions of enthusiasm for his performance. Hence, your summary is incredible.

He just seems to have a mature, dignified, and good tone about him.

Cain is really moving up in my book. I love the guy.

Perry never said he would give them amnesty--you did.

Let me ask you though, since I'm sure you studied this issue--what exactly do you suggest be done?

Ford said that Poland was free. He was closing the gap on Carter rapidly before the debate you reference. He continued closing the gap after it. Anyone who said Ford's gaffe had a significant effect on the election was a moron.

Then as now people who talk about politics grossly overestimate the importance of debates. They're entertainment. They are not a serious part of choosing a President. If they were we never would have had Ronald Reagan (who typically turned in fumbling performances and got worse in his last campaign against Mondale).

Debates are football for politics fans. Nothing more. Even if you were right that Romney would show better against Obama in a debate than Perry, it wouldn't matter. And you aren't right.

Romney is smooth. That impresses some observers. It shouldn’t. The smoother Romney gets the more he alienates people. He's been smooth since the beginning of his long, sputtering political career. The more people see him, the less they like him. He can't sell the product; he won't even try to sell the product.

Romney delenda est.

Well I did some research to update where Newt now stands on cap and trade. Looks like, as many did, Newt was for this until the scam was revealed and facts about proved this whole global warming thing was bogus from crooked science etc.

Since then he’s opposed cap and trade and in fact his organization launched a “Stop the Energy Tax” petition campaign... has collected over 230,000 signatures opposing the national cap and trade system for carbon dioxide... Additionally Gingrich has opposed Barack Obama’s proposed Cap and Trade legislation

When Newt was on board with Nancy Pelosi’s ad in 2008... calling for action on climate change... as the facts were exposed Newt cut the aid with Polosi and since then he’s campaigned against cap and trade.

I have no problem with politicicians changing their stance on cap and trade after it was shown to be a bogus ordeal.

We are fortunate that we can decide not to go back to visit. I don’t know the answers, but IMHO Mexico has become a bigger problem than immigration itself.

Rose...this is ‘the primary’...they are expected to stand and make claims concerning one another as well as state their opinions becuase this is ‘their race’. Once the primary candidate is selected you can be certain Obama will be racked over the coals left and right.

They are not team-mates until the Primary candidate is selected..then they will come together as usual.

Nor do I - but for some hereon, to do so means failure of the purity test and therefore to be forever condemned.

2010/2011 is now out of date. You really need to use 2011/2012.

The situation is I think I know exactly the website Romney's fact checkers used and it's based on 2010/2011 AND it includes an estimated cost for housing and meals ~ which is different for the instate students.

I can only imagine that's because so many in-state students are freshmen and get stuffed into cheap but mandatory freshman dorms in their first year. The other students have a higher percentage living in town, or could be, in Fraternities or Sororities.

That was just a few thou difference over 4 years, but certainly a curious number.

Obviously no one expects anything tougher on the illegals out of either one of these guys ~ whether Romney or Perry, but Romney was prepared and Perry wasn't.

Don’t know who you guys want to be our nominee,

I want to vote for Sarah Palin, but she hasn't entered the race.

but I like Mitt more than last time.....

Since the last debate, or the last election?
Have you always been in favor of Romney for president?

I never meant to assume that Perry came right out and said he would give amnesty, but as far as I’m concerned, letting them get a free education and giving them breaks on tuition leads the most simple minded person to conclude he will have no trouble with amnesty since he is already aiding and abetting and turning a blind eye to illegals coming right out in the open and he’s NOT HAVING ICE TAKE THEM OUT OF THIS COUNTRY!!! He is approving illegal actions....aiding and abetting them. He’s just as bad as OBAMA.

Newt,Cain and Santorum aren't going to get the nomination imo.

I'm glad that everyone is vetting Perry.
I can't wait until someone actually vets romney instead of kissing his ass like they do for obama.
