He was seen shooting the officer by 34 people.
Including people who knew him pesonally
Then he walked up to him while he was on the ground and shot him again

I agree with you his sentence should be commuted. How can we be sure that he committed murder if 7 of nine witnesses recanted??

The one's who "recanted" simply altered their testimony and most didn't change their testimony that he did it. This whole "significant doubt" thing is a liberal fairy tale. If you want more proof, look up the 174 page analysis of the evidence done by the Federal Court when they gave him a chance to prove his innocence. He is guilty, guilty, guilty.
