Gingrich promised to lay out a very visionary new Contract with America during a speech next week in Iowa.
It will be 10 times deeper and more comprehensive than 1994,

Very true.. Rush said last week on his show, "It's hard to listen to Newt during a debate and not imagine 'what could have been.'"
The most important speech Gingrich could give now would be an announcement that he is dropping out and pledging his support for one of the remaining candidates.
Bingo. Well stated.
I am looking forward to hearing Newt’s plan and I too expect it to be good. I also think that he will not hold back and will be saying what the country NEEDS to hear. Talking about what needs to be talked about is good.
But Rush is right you listen to Newt during the debates and you do wonder “what could have been?”.
It’ll be awesome and Newt will be awesome until the dems come up behind him and say... BOO!
Newt is the smartest person on the stage at the debates. However, if he is unable to keep his promise taken before God to the most important person in his life, why should I have any illusion he would keep any promise he makes to me?
Y’know, there is no doubt that, among the ‘Pubbie candidates its between Newt and Cain for the “Smartest Man in the Room” award.
Doesn’t mean that either of them are going to be candidate, though.
Newt is definitely the best “ideas” man in the race. Unfortunately, he is unelectable - the stuff with his wife, his commercial with Pelosi on AGW, etc. So while I welcome him injecting policy discussions back into the race, I don’t see this helping him a whole lot.
I’d like to see him as VP on the ultimate ticket

Me too, if nobody else jumps in....I think I am leaning Perry/Gingrich
I’d like something substantial to be said by any one of them. So far none of them has answered the essential question, “How much of a deficit is too much of a deficit?” At what $ point (and I want a number) do they call the liberals’ bluff and shut down the government?
If they aren’t willing to shut down the government then it will be same-old same-old. There’s no point in voting for any of them if they won’t hold the line against government spending.
The problem is that he always wants to surprise us with how smart he is. He surprises us a lot. Sometimes pleasantly.
I look forward to Newt’s proposals. He’s handled the debates far better than any other candidate. I wish more would follow his lead in that forum.
Cain has a degree in math, he's been a professional mathematician and a business turn-around genius. I think he can stand on his own when he describes the math behind its development.
Good for Newt. Somebody needs to get a plan out there. The country is going down for the 3rd time and we need a real grown up plan.
Are you insane? At this point, Pawlenty has a better chance of winning the primary, and he dropped out. Newt Gingrich is running the wrong primary, and he's probably the worst presidential candidate of my lifetime. There is no way most Americans would vote for that Pelosi-worshiping nutjob.
I can’t believe I am hearing this. How can anyone think this neocommunist scumbag is worth voting for. First of all, he is guilty of treason. I don’t say this about many people, but he is a terrible person. He thinks his adultery make him more patriotic than our servicemen, and pretty much anti-American in my book. He admits to being a disciple of Nancy Pelosi. He’s business-killing global-warming fanatic. He is a degenerate with the morals of Bill Clinton- but at least Clinton had the sense to hide his moral failings- Gingrich is proud of them. To top it off, he is incompetent, and thinks he’s ten times smarter than he is. Starting in 1995, Bill Clinton played his sorry ass like a toy violin. He already ruined the GOP once. His sorry ass should be ejected bodily from ANY party function from now on.
