I don’t think it’s her popularity. I think it’s the Dems desperation. They put everything they had into Obama.

Who else are they going to run? Pelosi? Sharpton? Kerry again? Harry Reid? Algore? John Edwards?

Hillary is their option.

I think you’re right. As anyone who follows sports knows, the most popular player on a struggling football team is always the second string quarterback. That is, until that second stringer actually gets in the game. That’s why all the love for Hillary now in that poll. She’s not in the game, so it’s meaningless.

Right now, Hillary is the Dem’s second string QB and we all know the first teamer is struggling.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not seeing any evidence that Hillary is a viable alternative for the Dems. Ask yourself this: How is she going to sell herself to black voters when they think they can have The Won for another four years?

And have you seen her lately? She looks like she's aged twenty years since the last campaign. She herself has said that she has no interest in running for president again. In the interview where she said that, the interviewer phrased the question three different ways, and she emphatically answered, "no", each time.

I think she's ready to retire from active service and find her place as a senior party insider.
