BOSTON (CBS) Kara Kennedy, the only daughter of the late Senator Edward Kennedy, has died.
A Kennedy family friend confirmed to WBZ NewsRadio 1030 that the 51-year-old Kennedy passed away after reportedly suffering a heart attack.
In 2009, she accepted the Medal of Freedom on behalf of her father, who was home battling cancer.
Kennedy battled lung cancer in the past, but her cancer had been in remission since 2003.
I had a granddaughter (by marriage) that died at age 19 in a single car accident. No witnesses. A reason for the crash was never found. She was on her way to my house in her "new" car.
We all deal with hurt and tragedy. It's why we can empathize with others. We know it hurts.
We are doing ok. God is still in the miracle business because our family could not have handled all of this without His help. One of the hardest things we have had to come to terms with is that we are the oldest generation now. We are not that old! : )
Me too. I read that and thought "what?!"
No parent should survive their child, I am so sorry for your loss. I do understand.
And I love old people! They are so much fun! We went to my Hubby's aunts 100th B'Day. It was a big gathering. She wanted to open her presents but her daughter said "No Mom. Tomorrow. You're tired." Auntie said "No I'm not! YOU are! I wanna know what I got!" LOL
“professional sailor”
What does that mean? Merchant Marine? Yachting? Didn’t find much w/ Google.
“How much does a family have to bear?”
Gimme a break. The family acquired their celebrity status via criminal activities and colossal unethical political dealings. As Catholics, they should understand God’s judgment. Y’know... the ol’ “sow and reap” thing.
According to Wiki, she had lung cancer by that time. I imagine that would keep those excess pound off.
As I mentioned in a diff thread the daughter of Walter Mondale, Eleanor, also just passed away—same age, 51.
Sometimes these things can be so sudden. Co-worker of mine,
wonderful person, wife and mother, seemed to be in great health...went outside on her break and was found hours later—sudden brain aneurysm. She was only 48...
It's a strange thing to put as a profession.
Yes it’s confirmed. It’ll be everywhere soon.
Besides being one of Bill Clinton’s go-to squeezes, she’d been linked to Ah-nold, and even Warren Zevon, among others.
Wasn't she hanging around Bill Clinton during the time that he was messin' with Monica Lewinsky? I seem to remember that when Eleanor was around, Lewinsky would get a little jealous?
Everybody dies. The question is when.
I feel sorry for Joan Kennedy. One child with bone cancer and amputation as a young boy; a mean, selfish and unfaithful husband; and now this.
Prayers for both the Mondales and Kennedys.
I believe that napscoordinator was speaking out of sympathy and surprise. And you’re right, they’re sinners. Just like the rest of us. Some of us forgiven, some not. But none of us has to pay for the sins of others. Her family did what they did. She’ll answer for her own transgressions. Meanwhile I will have sympathy for her husband and children who have suffered a loss.
that’s right..it was Bubba..
so weird..her and fellow Dem Eleanor Mondale..same age..both taken by Aunt Clarissa
sad
women die this young they often leave children who need them
How much does a family have to bear?
While I can sympathize with them, ALL families have to
bear it, they are no different than any other, except
for the money. I hope her passing was as easy as possible
whereas her father.....
stressing the heart out...probably a clot or bad arrythmia...might have had no idea..women tend to think they can go longer without heart disease...and they can usually
don’t mean to demean the dead but her face looks like she smokes...which is a definite life reducer unless you are Deng Xiao Peng or a panda bear
and yes...I 110% support smokers and loathe smoking gestapo..so ya’ll sheath those light sabers
