Republican Presidential candidate, Texas Gov. Rick Perry, answers questions after a speech before a Virginia Republican fundraising event in Richmond, Va., Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011.

“We don’t need to elect a nominee who’s going to blur the lines between this administration and the Republican party,” he said today. “We need a nominee who draws a distinct and clear contrast. And I will tell you one thing: President Obama and I have a clear contrast.” That drew a roar, slamming Romney without citing him and emphasizing his “contrast” factor for a general election.

Perry at Liberty University - speaks of liberty, freedom, military, 9-11, evil, "we must engage allies and build alliance for freedom and be like Ronald Reagan and speak past the rulers and directly to people by yearning to be free," his faith, his path, trust in God........ [worth listening to -- much, much more than described by the MSM]

Perry and Cain have honesty and humor as part of their core.

"Rendezvous with Destiny: Ronald Reagan and the Campaign That Changed America" - An excellent read, penned by Craig Shirley. The similarities of that 1980 election and today's situation makes this an important book for everyone to read.

Thank you Katarina.

I'm hoping the information will help us along with the vetting process.

I like Perry and if Bachman and Cain drop out—or Palin doesn't enter—he has my vote.

"Perry and Cain have honesty and humor as part of their core."

I agree and I loved that about Reagan too.

Well, the REAL mission is to stop first Romney and then Obama, isn't it?

And as far as current probabilities stand,Perry is the best bet in that mission.

But theres a lot of campaigning to do yet.

Just want to add, if you have the time to listen to Perry’s comments yesterday at Liberty University (Post #2 LINK), they’re very good — and more than the MSM is reporting.

Well after the attacks by Palin and Bachmann the other nite after the debate, Romney is finished; it's only a matter of time now...

Oh...wait....nevermind

One of the signature reasons that Herman Cain and more recently, Rick Perry connect with us.

There is a huge difference between a SMILE, a SMIRK and a GRIN.

Using your own observations of the candidates - which ones smile, who grins and who smirks???

I have my list;) It’s very telling.

From my perspective, Perry recognizes his deficiencies, and is willing to admit mistakes. I do not think that shows weakness, I am feeling good about Perry right now. Thanks for that link I will watch later.

And it’s pretty easy to see who lusts after the office of the president and who feels called to it.
