Perry still dominating national primary, up 13 on Romney

Just curious what part of the country you're from? Native Texans tend to speak slowly and to the less discerning it might appear we're a bit dim witted. That's OK though; it helps the process of lulling one's opponents into misunderestimating us. Beware the smooth talkers like the current resident of the white hut. Maybe you had something else in mind.
BTW, did you happen to catch Frank Luntz's group on Hannity's show a night or two ago? I didn't see it all but I happened to tune in at the very point where he was asking the question about the contrast between Willard and Perry. Almost unanimously they credited Perry with being more "sincere" than Willard. The perception of insincerity in a politician is a death knell. Perry stomped Willard's butt.
That the polls are fake, and that the media is lying because Sarah is really polling at 99%, of course, and they are terrified to run Barry against her.
Duh :)
I grew up in Dallas. It’s not how he talked, it was his lack of coherent answers.
He was fine in the beginning of the debate, but towards the end, when he was under fire, he struggled to put a sentence together. It wasn’t pretty.
He needs more practice. His demeanor is great. He seems very comfortable and sincere, for the most part.
Curiosity piqued - ping for later viewing.
bump.
The rules are different when you are the front runner. As long as you don’t make any catastrophic mistakes, you walk in the front runner and walk out the front runner.
People get their information and make their decisions on who to support based on many sources of information, the debates just being one of them. There is a reason candidates spend 100’s of millions on commercials and other forms of advertising.
Face it, if debate performance alone determined who became president Alan Keyes would of been president.
Promise?
"U" have completely jumped the shark with this lame video. You do your screenname a complete injustice.
Yea, I know; I’ll get a ‘screenname injustice’ post back.
You’re putting your eggs in the Newt basket and someone else is a blithering idiot!? We have a new definition of chutzpah.
Time will tell...I’ll be the first to admit I’M the blithering idiot if Perry or Romney take the nomination. ;)
OK, sorry, but that proves nothing. I have not decided who I am for, but Perry doesnt even acknowledge this guy. Who took this film, anyone could dress and say this, the guy looked right at the camera, almost asking the camera guy “did you get it”?
Not evidence. I could pass by you and say, thanks for helping with Perry’s campaign while at a grocery store, if someone got it on camera, would you think the same way?
Actually, Lurker is comparing apples to apples. The last PPP poll showed Perry with 33% and Romney with 20% if Sarah was not included. In this PPP poll, Perry has 31% and Romney has 18% if Sarah is not included - a 2% drop for each - well within the margin of error, so it appears not much has changed in the race since then.
He does acknowledge him...he says sure.
It was an open camera from CSPAN.
Fair enough, but then don't bother coming on Perry threads to post your blather either, okay?
So, you don’t like job producers?
LOL, grow up. It takes money to run for President.
Hey, I missed Luntz...what did he have to say? Can you give me a quick summary?
“people saw through Romney slick debate phoniness, and saw Perry has honest and genuine.”
Wrong. The right conclusion would be that only a small fraction of republican likely voters watched the debates, so the numbers didn’t change.
Perry’s numbers will only begin to sink after his many flaws begin to reach a wider audience. That will happen by word of mouth, negative advertising, MSM coverage, etc.
Palin will enter the race when Perry’s poll numbers peak and this poll suggests that it will happen soon.
basically they all hated Romney pretty universally because they see him as a slick talking politician. Perry they liked because they saw him as having values and things he truely believed in, they saw him as being honest and willing to make the tuff decisions that need to be made. The only thing they didn’t like was his stand on instate tuition for illegals, and they also loved Newt and Cain’s debate performance, were totally turned off by Bachmann’s attacks.
