Of course, he would have. I would bet $100,000, double or nothing, that Perry was not a virgin on his wedding night.

That brings up the latest political firestorm in the news the last couple of days: The Gardasil bar fight.

For many, the fact that ANYbody recommends a Gardasil course for all teenaged girls implies that they are accusing the teenaged apple of their eye of being, well, ... ummm..... loose.

Them's fighting words and they react accordingly.

Just remember, however, that even if your daughter remains a virgin until her wedding night at age 24, you can bet your last dollar that that new scumbag son-in-law of yours slept with someone that slept with someone that slept with someone that had HPV before he said, "I do" at the altar. .... And a lot of that sleeping around and passing the HPV around began during somebody's daughter's (not your, of course) teenaged years.

It is estimated that 75% of Canadians will have at least one HPV infection in their lifetime. The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada estimates that 10% to 30% of the Canadian adult population is infected with HPV. This is in line with research from the US and Europe which has shown that 10% to 40% of sexually active women are infected by HPV at any one time.
