19,612 Turner [R] 17,062 Weprin [D]
Did you factor in ‘voter irregularities’ into your calculations?
i wonder if they’ll, er, take it hard....

If this turns out to be an easy Turner win, then why? Conservatives are climbing over one another’s backs to take credit. Earlier today I talked to Brian Brown, the president of the National Organization for Marriage, about that group’s effort in the district. They sent out 70,000 pieces of mail in a race that may only have 30,000 voters.
“I don’t think anyone familiar with this district believes that Orthodox Jewish voters are turning on Weprin because of Israel,” said Brown. “The real reason is Weprin’s support for same sex marriage, especially the use of his Orthodox faith to justify it.”
That was a reference to Weprin’s speech in favor of the gay marriage bill that passed, which NOM used to round up opposition to Weprin among not just Orthodox Jews, but Hispanic voters...
Exactly. In any case he will be redistricted out of a job in 2012. The important thing is the devastating and unspinnable blow that Obama and the Dems will take.

Yeah, that's what I fear as well. I think Turner will win in the regular voting. I'm not so sure that he'll carry enough to hold that lead through the "late voting."

Hey, I'm usually a big optimist and I know enough to keep my mouth shut before the polls close. But this race reeks of one that the Dems will steal. A possible upset in a heavily Dem district that's been Dem since 1922? Plus, keep in mind that Weprin is a gay "marriage" supporter and this has been an issue during the campaign. His morality-challenged friends will use any means necessary to drag him across the finish line.
Turner will need a lead that exceeds the margin of fraud. In this district, that's fairly significant. His lead is now floating around 2,500 votes. That's the low end of what I would be confident in calling an unassailable victory.
Congrats NY and NV. 2010 to 2012..America is waking up to the scum that resides in the white house now.
If we nominate a True conservative we will win big next year. BIG

It’s already been called, no reason to wait for the AP to call it.
Incredibly cool, G!
I use to HATE going into the city when you were accosted by all the window-washer/pan-handlers at every intersection. Guiliani got rid of that, and what a relief! I loved it in the mid/late 50s, when you could walk the streets at night — with no fear. But that is the same all over, I guess — not just NYC.
He win going away!
And to think, the deems thought this was a sure thing and that they had a legitimate shot at the opne seat in Nevada! They’ve been buying into their own PR too much.
Turner 53-47
Precincts still to be counted
112 Brooklyn
109 Queens
I think I can go to sleep now.
Dead Voters in NY-9? Turner Obtains Order Sealing Paper Ballots
Pray for NO DEMS NO MORE!
If gay marriage can’t win in Chuck Schumer’s old district why do some GOP bosses insist the party must support it?

Obama calls for NY-9 to return to it’s pre-1967 status. Last time an R held the seat was 1922.
