I am, though I didn’t vote in that district. More importantly, the fact that a Republican can beat a Democrat deep in the heart of New York City (in a heavily Democratic district) sends a strong message to Obama.
It looks hopeful for Turner.
That is so cool! I’ve never seen the “neighborhoods” defined such as that. Thanks!
“The Nevada race looks like a slaughter of the DemonRat.”
Good. Not sure what the predicted margin was, but a much bigger than expected win will send a strong message about voter anger towards the Rats.
Turner 11790 to Weprin 11087 just now.
This thing’s a nail biter.
If Turner somehow wins, it sure will be interesting to see the White House and DBM spin it (Turner out from redistricting anyway, shows Republicans completely divided, people thought they were voting for Jim Turner - Jets kicker from SB III, etc.).
OK Debby Downer.
South Western Ohio Support here!
:-)
Welprin developing a lead in Queens, Brooklyn aving Turner’s chestnuts right now. Is AP cherry picking districts to make this look good? Everything for the last 15 min has gone Dem while everything in the first hour went R.
“deep in the heart of New York City (in a heavily Democratic district)”
You’re overstating it a bit. McCain got 44% in this district (versus 46% nationally). It’s the second best district for the GOP in NYC.
Grrr.... c'mon, Turner!
As of 11:20pm ET, Turner ahead 52% to Weprin's 48%. 199/512 precincts overall.
Hi, Victoria and Gabz! :-)
Just logging in - What percent of the vote is in?
ES&D2 EL’0
I thought he was going to drain a good 3 or 4 per cent off of the dem tonight.
I wonder, whats up?
No, anything close to 50-50 in Queens should be fine, if Brooklyn comes through as anticipated.
NV victory was expected but still is sweet because after the special election for Lee’s seat which the Dems picked up a few months ago, they were bragging that maybe they could gain the NV seat too. I think not! That was a district where 0bama won. Not like we didn’t warn people they would be sorry.
40%
Mine go back at least that far as well. The old farmhouse still stands, and is occupied, but it’s no longer the farmland it was even when my grandfather was a boy.
Very cool Brooklyn map... thanks!
