Palin takes aim at GOP presidential candidates
The Hill ^ | September 12, 2011 | Josh Lederman

Palin even went as far as to lend her voice to the charge leveled by Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) during the debate against Texas Gov. Rick Perry (R): That he allowed a law to go though requiring HPV vaccinations for adolescent girls because of a $5,000 campaign donation and his relationship with his former chief of staff, who went on to lobby for a pharmaceutical company.

"I knew there was something to it," Palin said of learning while she was Alaska's governor that her Texas counterpart had given the go-ahead to the vaccine. "Now we're finding that now, yea, something was up with that issue. It was an illustration or bit of evidence of some crony capitalism."

. . . no, the people of Texas contacted their reps and demanded they stop it.

Imagine politicians of listening to the people they represent. Unlike the 0 bummer and the dims ramming commiecare down our throats when over 60% are against it.

Her accusations were anecdotal at best. Contrived at worst. SHE offered no “proof” about Perry’s crony capitalism with respect to Gardisil. So I’ll leave that to others. Until and unless she can offer solid evidence, she was an opportunistic cheap shot artist. And mast objective observers saw that last nite.

And on the radio, she sounded like an eighth grade girl trying to put a sensible sentence together.

And, btw, people “blurt” out opinions all the time so here is one from me:

She likely won’t run and if she does, she won’t get the nomination. It won’t be close.

Thanks for the link. Palin is trying out a “crony capitalism” theme at the expense of Perry. Money had nothing to do with Perry’s decision, and for her to say otherwise lowers her in my estimation very considerably. As for the faux outrage at a vaccine mandate, are these women going to publicly denounce all of the other mandatory-opt out vaccine requirements imposed through government schools? I don’t think so.

Perry can legitimately be challenged on immigration and the TTC, for example, but this Gardasil issue has turned into nothing more than a dishonest attempt to score points with low information voters.

Until now I have been supporting Bachmann. I’m going to reconsider that.

I never realized that Rick Perry should be above reproach for the questionable directions he has taken at times.

Nor do I. However, how about Palin jumping into the water and engaging the other candidates on an even footing? That was my point.

“Norm, dear, I am not defending Perry. “

“I am not using circular logic to see clearly that we have threads here today that are off in the weeds, ignoring Obama, because we are left without enough information to properly defend Rick and battle against the bots of all stripes, who are on here today bashing Rick, promoting some yahoo candidate, or yaking about some other non-candidate’s high principles. “

So which is it? Make up your mind. Holding two contradictory ideas and believing both equally is the definition of Doublethink.

Palin has done significant harm to her brand.

To conservatism? Spit it out - don't drop your propaganda bomb and run for cover as in 'wuss'. And I will say it again Really? You haven't said it once, you haven't said diddle squat - like the rest who suffer from PDS.

The fact is there was an opt-out.

Yes, it was a mistake by Perry, and yes, he admits it was a mistake.

Not before he excoriated those who were voting to override him as “shameful” spreaders of “misinformation” who were putting “women’s lives” at risk.

Don't know about you, but it reminds me an awful lot of how people against Harriet Myers were sexist and people who were against amnesty were 'nativist'. If you think that kind of behavior is going to turn around the mess we are in, please do your country a favor and think again.

So your proof is “anecdotal at best.” Got it. You are entitled to opinion. Which you gave. Nothing more.

yw.

The thing is, Romney was NOT attacked and he is a true RINO. Rush Limbaugh is discussing these attacks on Perry by both Bachmann & Palin last nite. He added there is no evidence.

Frankly, I’m disgusted at both women. Never was a supporter of Bachmann..for anything other than Speaker. Palin is on the downside of my ‘meter’ at this point. I wouldn’t believe it last nite when some were saying she was talking about Perry not until I heard it with my own ears because up to this point she has been staying on target with the true enemy: the marxist madman in the WH. That changed last nite.

Did any of the candidates on stage show proof? NO! Did Perry admit he made a mistake? Yes! And guess what - YOU don't have proof one way or another either. So you can't say it didn't happen or did! You are merely against SARAH. You should have used something you have proof of for some credibility here - so far it's all against SARAH because she's SARAH.

So Until and unless YOU can offer solid evidence YOU ARE an opportunistic cheap shot artist.

That's bull$hit and if weren't blindly emotional you'd know it. I said her charges were anecdotal at best. Here is what she said, and I heard it in real time:

"I knew there was something to it," Palin said of learning while she was Alaska's governor that her Texas counterpart had given the go-ahead to the vaccine. "Now we're finding that now, yea, something was up with that issue. It was an illustration or bit of evidence of some crony capitalism."

Tell me that is not an anecdotal accusation.

LOLOLOLOL!

You’re going to reject a great candidate because of the Bin Laden photos?

I think you’re anti Cain because he doesn’t spell his name P-A-L-I-N.

Hello!? She’s not a candidate.

You are supposed to forgive Rick, dontcha know. Cause he apologized at the debate. LOL

Whatever happened to that good old Texas Mind Your Own Business Ricky?

I don’t want to have to opt out. I want him to mind his own business. If I want the vaccine, Merck can sell me on it without government help.

I have seen ads on TV for Gardasil. At the end they have to list side effects and complications. I would wager to say that if this drug was mandated, those side effects would never be presented to the poor suckers it was forced on.

Who would file an affidavit for some girl with parents who don’t pay attention? Answer is, nobody.

Norm, dear, I SAID, “we are left without enough information to defend Rick...”. Your selective use of one paragraph ignores the one before it, also.

We do have two dilemmas. I’ll hand you that.

1. Bashing our leading candidate without command of the detail of facts and background, for the purpose of benefiting another candidate.

2. Defending our leading candidate without command of the the detail of facts and background, for the purpose of benefiting this candidate.

It is not a matter easily dealt with, but it is not a question of “two contradictory ideas”. In fact, it is not even a question at all. It’s a fact.
