During his Monday show, Limbaugh warned the 2012 Republican field not to use Perry's remarks against him. He specifically named Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.
"I've not endorsed anybody and this is not an endorsement" Limbaugh said. "But be very careful if you start attacking Rick Perry on Social Security and the 'Ponzi scheme.' There are too many of you out there who have already said that yourselves -- Mitt Romney. Mitt, you have already called it a Ponzi scheme. And worse."
"I've got a whole list of people here - media and outside - in politics who have referred to Social Security as a Ponzi scheme," Limbaugh went on. "And ... I would like to warn everybody: Be careful here because youâre pandering to the media."

So, the WP is a hotbed of sedition.
Conservatism is not crony corporatism/capitalism run by lobbyists. Until Republicans understand the difference there will be no Republican in the White House. We need candidates that emphasize ethics and honesty towards the people and put the USA first, not global business interests, war profiteers, and policing the world.
I can’t seem to find a thread on CNN’s Republican debate this evening. I didn’t even know abougt it until the last half hour of it. Anyone?
It's not even about Social Security per se, it's about attacking other Republicans from the Left, using Democrat-style appeals to emotion. Republicans should NEVER do this. Not ever.
I lost pretty much all respect for Bachmann when she went all grandpa-will-be-eating-dog-food on Perry over the weekend.
I think they will repeat it in a half hour. Check your CNN schedule.
Watched the last 1-1/2 hrs and it was very, very good. Wolfie was surprisingly refreshing and upbeat without any asides. I can honestly say that I thought he was the best moderator, so far, certainly better than Brian Williams and as Fox passed the questions around, I've come to loathe Chris Wallace, he had far too many times with his snarky jibs and jabs.
Probably, this debate was the best because all of the questions were designed by TEA Party folk.
Der Fuhrer has spoken.
Well...in tonight’s Republican debate, the RINO lapdog Huntsman, referred to Perry’s position against a border fence as “treasonous”.
Has Huntsman swallowed the Media bait and turned on his fellow Republicans??
Answer...NO...because this is his defined role in the entire campaign!
So you’re saying Rush is a Nazi?
Hear! Hear! I was not surprised to hear Mitt Romney attacking Rick Perry from the Left. But I was very disappointed to hear Michelle Bachmann sounding like a Democrat, and I lost a great deal of respect for her. She is a good Congresswoman, but she's not going to be the GOP nominee.
To call Social Security, especially Medicare, or any other government program a “Ponzi scheme” insults Charles Ponzi. The great Mr. Ponzi at least had the honesty not to compel people to continue to “invest” in his schemes generations after they recognized that he swindled them. Had Mr. Ponzi been elected to the Congress, he would have been derided within that legislative body for his honesty, respect for the wealth of others, and small-expense thinking. But alas, he was just an illegal alien, not a citizen.
In the fall of 2009, ATF agents installed a secret phone line and hidden cameras in a ceiling panel and wall at Andre Howards Lone Wolf gun store. They gave him one basic instruction: Sell guns to every illegal purchaser who walks through the door. For 15 months, Howard did as he was told. To customers with phony IDs or wads of cash he normally would have turned away, he sold pistols, rifles and semiautomatics. He was assured by the ATF that they would follow the guns, and that the surveillance would lead the agents to the violent Mexican drug cartels on the Southwest border. When Howard heard nothing about any arrests, he questioned the agents. Keep selling, they told him. So hundreds of thousands of dollars more in weapons, including .50-caliber sniper rifles, walked out of the front door of his store in a Glendale, Ariz., strip mall. He was making a lot of money. But he also feared somebody was going to get hurt. Every passing week, I worried about something like that, he said. I felt horrible and sick.
Bachmann was even worse in today’s debate. I lost all respect for her, she was despicable the way she attacked Perry. Is she running for Obama’s VP?
I’m not sure of the point you are trying to make. I didn’t say Perry was right or wrong. But Huntsman, (I think freepers will agree)is totally out of line attacking Republican candidates in that manner. And he has been doing that. Considering he was an Obama ambassador...you gotta wonder!
BTW it is “leave the gun...take the canolis”
Well said. Corrupt capitalism is no better than corrupt government. Both can be destructive to the cause of freedom.
It's being re-run starting right now, 11pm eastern on CNN
