Romney’s desperate. He’s watching Perry walk away with the nomination and can’t see any path to victory for himself. When Bachmann/Cain drop out the majority of their supporters will find themselves in Perry’s camp - as their second choice sure, but there none the less. All Romney has to look forward to is picking up Huntloser’s 1% constituency. I expect that the nastiness coming out of his campaign will only increase in the months to come.

On the money.

While I detest what Romney is doing, as I said above, he is actually doing us a favor. If the American people still aren't ready for a grown up discussion about this, it is better to find out now in the primary.

On the other hand, if they are and they go ahead and nominate Perry in spite of the Elder Scare campaign, it will make it that much tougher for Obambi to pull it off in the general.

He's been campaigning since the last Republican Presidential Primary. Every one on FR knows that a lot of the stuff thrown at Sarah since then was coming from Romney's camp. Guess he was using her for Practice before Perry threw his stetson into the ring.
