Rick Perry: Texas tough
THE HERALD EVERETT, WASHINGTON ^ | September 10, 2011 | Rick Horowitz

Posted on 09/10/2011 3:17:47 AM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

"Maybe it's time to have some provocative language in this country."

-- Rick Perry

"Because it worked so well the last time?"

-- Rick Horowitz

"Bring 'em on!" says the man from Texas -- or was that the previous man from Texas? Whatever.

Must be something in the water. (Industrial waste?) You come out of the Lone Star State and your default settings automatically go to Total Testosterone: You're the long-stridin', sun-squintin', gun-totin', plain-speakin', g-droppin', tough-as-nails, raw-as-a-rattlesnake son of the West with the sheriff's badge and the don't-mess-with-me jawline.

Pass the popcorn -- we think we're in love!

There's something about a swagger, right? When times are tough -- and aren't times always tough? -- we need a man who's tough. The kind of man who takes no guff from nobody. A man's man, not one of those namby-pamby types who wants to be "reasonable." Who'd rather "meet you halfway." Who prefers to "lead from behind."

Not that we're naming names. (But do we have to spell it out for you?)

We need a man who stands tall. A man who sits tall in the saddle. A man who's not afraid to speak his mind, no matter what's in it. A man who says what he thinks, even when he's not actually thinking. If he's got good hair, so much the better.

[snip]

He makes his bets, and then -- because he's a man's man, a swaggery man, a Texas man -- he doubles down on his bets. That's right: He doesn't back down, he doubles down. Try to set him back on his heels and he'll rip your legs off. Then he'll have your toes for breakfast.

Isn't that exactly the kind of man America is hungry for?

Those familiar with candidate:

Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin, who still have not ruled out entering the race, are also well-liked by Republicans (74% and 69% favorable ratings, respectively), but also do not generate the same degree of strong intense feeling as Perry and Cain. Giuliani's current Positive Intensity Score is 15 and Palin's is 13.

Perry Remains Best-Positioned Candidate

Perry's combination of high name recognition and a high Positive Intensity Score help make him the best-positioned candidate for the Republican nomination at this point, underscored by his lead in Republican nomination preferences. Cain's enthusiastic support is offset by his low name recognition, and other well-known candidates like Romney, Michele Bachmann, and Ron Paul, do not generate the same level of intense feeling as Perry.

And Perry has room to grow within his name recognition numbers.

>>it was a lady’s name giving to Dems.

And RINOs.

The Godfather of Subprime / Ambassador was never picky about whether the power he prostituted came from the left or the right.

http://www.google.com/#sclient=psy&hl=en&source=hp&q=Godfather+of+Subprime

Just like Angelo Mozilo, evidently.

The Obama 2008 Campaign's National Finance Chairwoman Penny Pritzker is observably more particular, with her Chicago owned family bank failing in 2001 from doing subpime - but the GeeOpie frat woosies refuse to even utter her name in debate.   Will Perry - or is he just another castrated showdog like McPoodle?

The whole demoralized and criminal raping of the economy appears to be a subject our would-be owners would like us to just fahgedabout.

Not surprising you can't connect the dots -- given that character is such a non-issue for you.

Gonna enjoy QE3, are ya?  BOHICA.

They [ACORN] supported a GREAT bill he Signed....

Right.  A "great" bill that took those borrowers out of the CONTRACTS they signed and entered into of their own free will (contracts -- that's how free, non-government-sponsored-market works, remember?) - and into the Countrywide Sub-prime fire/BBQ.

ACORN?

Why did Fannie and Freddie make so many unsound loans?

Because Obama’s buddies in ACORN pressured them to. And then (as the video in a previous post noted) Fannie’s CEO called Barack Obama a member of the “family” and thanked him for pressuring him to make unsound loans.

Which you now have to subsidize.

And Barack Obama’s Finance Chair, Penny Pritzker, has a “special place” in engineering the sub-prime meltdown:

http://rightvoices.com/2008/09/17/acorn-fannie-mae-freddie-mac-barack-obamas-finance-chair-penny-pritzker-all-tied-to-the-sub-prime-meltdown/

So ACORNista Penny Pritzker's Chicago family-owned Superior bank FAILED in 2001 - and nobo(D)y in Texas could smell the smoke coming out of the subprime circuitry.

Uhuh.

That the kind of attention to detail, or lack thereof, what we can expect from a fithcally conthervative Perry administration in the White Hut?

[But like I said there is the winner and then the also rans.]

The Architects of this Republic evidently had something else in mind beyond such a constrained and simplistic definition of "winning".

"CULTIVATE PEACE AND COMMERCE WITH ALL"

--

Thomas Jefferson

The kind of endurance it takes for a Republic to achieve that objective is not acquired by showing the sheeples 10 reruns of Death Valley Days in a single couch-sitting.... regardless of how good the original was.

Character, discipline, perserverence....  "WE PLEDGE OUR LIVES, OUR FORTUNES, AND OUR SACRED HONOR".

Some folks would evidently like to throw that out too... along with the rest of Thomas Jefferson's enlightenment -- removed from Texas schoolbooks.

Others, not so much.

What a bunch of bull cheet.

This sounds like some cheesy Ford commercial.

What is it with Texans and their self worship?

Texas is crawling with millions of illegal aliens, the sweltering heat and humidity is unfit for human habitation, yet they are constantly telling all how good they are and begging others to move there.

I find this a bit humorous and at best, very odd.

As usual you didn’t read the article or understand that it was a liberal slam at Texas, middle Americans — everything the Left and Right coasts hate.

I don't care what liberals say...I was talking about the endless self worship coming out of Texas itself. It's become knee deep with obnoxious trumpeting windbags. Like watching a stadium filled with grandstanding chest-beaters. You just know something is very wrong when ya see this type of behavior.
