Does NBC's Brian Williams struggle to sleep at night?

Easy for anyone to avoid execution.
1. Don’t murder anyone
2. If you do murder someone do not do it in Texas.

Williams thinks all 234 were executed under Perry.

Exactly!

Isn’t it funny (sad) that libs will defend a convicted murder till the end, but could give a rats A$$ about an unborn (read: Innocent”) Baby? As Rush would say: “Liberals are 180 degrees out of phase.”

Leftists are a bunch of hypocrits!

Perry seemed tentative through much of the debate, choosing his words cautiously and halting in delivery. For the most part, he didn't live up to my expectations and I feared a political analog to the 2007 Michigan-Appalachian State game.

On the death penalty question, Perry more than redeemed himself in my opinion. Since that came toward the end of the debate, that might be the last impression he left on those getting exposed to him for the first time. This was certainly a Doug Flutie Hail Mary (BC over Miami) moment for our governor.

While I support the death penalty on a philosophical basis, there are cases where DAs are more interesting in getting any conviction than in making sure they convict the right guy. You'd be surprised at the number of times where prosecutors will maintain a wrongly convicted person was guilty in the face of incontrovertible evidence of innocence.

I wish someone on that stage had the brass to ask that of Williams.

The best moment of the debate (I didn’t have the stomache to watch most of it) was when Perry was lobbed this question and Brian was appalled that the audience applauded the death penalty. Why Brian nearly got the vapors!

Brian Williams: Governor Perry a question about Texas. Your state has executed 234 death row inmates more than any other governor in modern times. Have you struggled to sleep at night?

Brian Williams: President Obama , did you eat a hearty breakfast?

Kill ‘em all, let God sort out which ones he want to take to Heaven.

Rick Perry ain’t without numerous warts, but against that little girl we call President, I’m in. All in.

Yes, but even Alan Dershowitz has conceded that in modern times it is very unlikely that a truly innocent man has been executed.

Couldnt agree more. Romney and Gingrich were trouncing Perry until MSNBC walked right into a left hook with the death penalty question as time was running out saving Perry. Brian Williams is the one who cannot sleep tonight. (no. I am not a Romney fan).

I have absolutely nothing good to say about Brian Williams, so I guess I won’t say anything.

Correction: Williams “doesn’t think”. He regurgitates like a bird. One of the worst. He was hired as a pretty face, not for his intelligence (of which he has none).

Take it from an old journalist, he isn’t one of us.

The appeals in death penalty cases generally make it up to at least one SCOTUS justice. Not much chance of a local prosecutor swaying the folks at SCOTUS.

Did you notice when the question was ask...the clapping began even before Rick Perry answered the question. And this is California....a lefty state.

I couldn’t help wonder if Perry’s back was bothering him somewhat tonight (recent surgery), he seemed a bit stiff in his (physical) stance. But truly, I think he could have said almost anything and still become the GOP nominee.

He has presence to spare and will only get better on the national stage.
