The first word spoken on the Moon: "Houston." The American Space Shuttle program lifetime cost: $192,000,000,000 (approximate 2010 dollars). The NASA contribution to the Clear Lake, Webster, and Greater Houston economy: $5,900,000,000 Having an @sshole refuse the Johnson Space Center one of the orbiters: Priceless.

New York City, and their aircraft carrier, have as much relevance to the American SPACE program as New Delhi had to the American Revolution.

NASA has much higher priorities - like bowing to muslim sl*mes.

Please tell me again why anything connected with NASA should be in Houston.

Umm maybe cause the shuttle will get between 500,000 to 1,000,000 visitors a year in New York City with an additional 1,000,000+ being able to see it without visiting the carrier museum. With all due respect, Houston would be lucky to get 1/4 of that.

They put it on the Intrepid because of all the locations it is the one that likely will reach the most people directly and indirectly.

A Mosque should be built on the former Shuttle launch pads at Cape Canaveral.

When he announced the placements, NASA Administrator Charles Bolden said was a tough choice.

Liar.

The decision was made for Bolden (one suspect the WH here), then Bolden made up the point system to fit.

It's so easy to see, and it doesn't even take a "rocket scientist".

One also suspects that Texans will not forget this, at all, ever .

Space Center Houston is the Official Visitors Center of NASA’s Johnson Space Center, which is the home of astronaut training and Mission Control.
Would it not be in line with historical rolls of the city that all tour directors must be sent to Huston for training and the opening and closing of the exhibits in the the various state should be controlled from Houston. When you walk up to one of the exhibits that you push a button to here a tape about what your are looking at it could be a live feed from Huston.

Has anyone heard the latest on the Space X F9 re-supply trip to the International Space Station? Supposed to be this year.

The first word spoken on the Moon: "Houston."

Actually, I believe when the sensor on one of the lunar module legs contacted the lunar surface, the first words were by Aldrin when he said/confirmed, "Contact light."

By the same logic - the 9-11 memorial will be placed in Orlando, or Washington DC.

Since the deciding issue is visitor traffic - we should be consistent.

Everyone knows this is just Obama and Dem politics al lthe time 24-7.

He is a joke - and anyone who votes for him is a traitor. First time around - being stupid is excused. But no one can claim ignorance now.

One of the heights of my professional career was to be working as an engineer at NASA in Houston during the height of the Shuttle program, and to see the movie “The Right Stuff” on opening night in Clear Lake, in an audience filled with my wonderful and amazing co-workers.

I’m sure Obama would say Texas already got its shuttle: Columbia.

I understand the chagrin of the Hustonians... I do. But why would you want a shuttle after this muslim impostor has slobbered all over it. There was no good logical reason to end the shuttle program other than to further weaken America. There is no such thing as an “end of life” to a successful project - you either maintain it or keep reinvesting. This muslim has KILLED our space program and got us all to buy in to it and start fighting over the carnage.

They only place the shuttle's belong is filled full of nukes in Mecca... or stuffed up Barry Hussein's arse. Barry is gerbiling himself to ecstasy over this subtle victory.
