“Debates on and after Labor Day, do mean the most.”

I think this debate will mean a lot, because it will be more of a no-nonsense debate, devoid of those silly gotcha questions.

A Herman Cain/Michele Bachman ticket would constitute a winning combination for President/Vice President of the USA, IMO.

I really like DeMint. Knows he wouldn’t stand a chance to win, which is why I believe he doesn’t run, but he’s done heroic work in the ultimate go-along-get-along club that is the US Senate.

For all the talk about Palin, who should be and will be running, DeMint is the one who could be a ‘kingmaker’. (

That worries me a little, however, considering how early and fervently he backed Romney in ‘08. All of our pols are human.

Reagan was the exception, but things were 180 degrees different in his time, from Media, to Communications...
... to Reagan's own mega-stature. Take a look at what Reagan had already accomplished by 1979 and it's easy to see why he was the exception.

Palin and Rudy were invited also. Rudy declined and as far as I’d seen Palin didn’t respond.

My Opinions:
SARAH PALIN
commercial fisherman, author and businesswoman turned mayor then governor of Alaska
Reagan in a skirt. Best chance for the country to find its way out of socialism. I’d vote for her above all others.
RICK PERRY
Eagle Scout, farmer, Air Force captain, governor of Texas
Probably a good candidate; America loves presidents from Texas.
He’ll never make it though until he ditches his acceptance of amnesty.
HERMAN CAIN
businessman who took Burger King and Godfather’s Pizza from deficiency to profitability
Excellent man with a head on his shoulders with CEO experience
MICHELLE BACHMANN
tax attorney-turned congresswoman
Palin without the leadership experience. Smart, but Congresscritters don’t make good presidents.
MARCO RUBIO
lawyer turned congressman, then senator
Talks the talk, walks the walk, born in the USA before parents became citizens; too bad - not a chance.
MITT ROMNEY
investment banker turned governor of Massachusetts
Not a chance. summed up in two words: RINO and RomneyCare.
RUDY GIULIANI
lawyer turned mayor of NYC
Less of a chance than ROMNEY: also a RINO.
RON PAUL
physician-turned-congressman
Useful Idiot.
NEWT GINGRICH
college professor, author, congressman, former Speaker of the House
I thought he was great until he embraced global warming
Never gonna happen, Beltway politician and RINO
JIM DEMINT
marketing consultant turned congressman then senator
Congresscritters don’t make good presidents.

I see.

RICK PERRY Eagle Scout, farmer, Air Force captain, governor of Texas Probably a good candidate; America loves presidents from Texas. He’ll never make it though until he ditches his acceptance of amnesty.

Except he's not for amnesty. He opposed it in 2006, 2007 and 2011. No amnesty. No citizenship as part of a guest worker program. No citizenship in the form of the federal Dream Act.

Now if you want to argue a guest worker program is amnesty, like some Freepers, then you have a serious problem. And that problem is this:

Sarah Palin supported a guest worker program for illegals already here in 2010. Plus there's her statements as McCain's running mate supporting his pathway to citizenship. See what she said on O'Reilly..

Just so you won’t be disappointed...Perry pulling out of afternoon debate. Going back to Texas becuse of the emergency in his state. Tha thas to come first.

He just had a townhall which CNN convered somewhat and he knocked the amnesty question out of the ballpark.

Obama is a liar on his immigration record and Mexcian Drug Cartels are terrorists.

Is this video meant to be damning?
Nothing Gov. Palin said made me uncomfortable. She clearly said she was for a fense, was against Amnesty, and would deport anyone here unlawfully.
In fact, she attempted to stress the importance of a fense.
O’knucklehead wouldn’t let her.

Read what I wrote. Some here on FR are arguing any guest worker program is the same as amnesty. Now, I disagree. But I said you are one of those, then you'll be unhappy that she is for a guest worker program.

She didn't say she's deport anyone here unlawfully. She said if they don't comply with registration, they'd be deported.

I liked that he called the drug cartels every bit as terrorist as those we’re fighting in the Middle East. He’s right. We saw earlier this year that Hamas, the Palestinian terror organization, has set up camp in Tijuana.

Candidates filing out as names called: Romney, RonPaul, Newt, Cain, Bachmann. They're sequestered until their time. Mentioned Perry had to return to Texas because of wildfires.

Bachmann up first. No seating.

3 minutes of open remarks to define the constitutional role of government.

Bachmann talking about Calvin Coolidge vs FDR views of the constitution. Says the differing views will be the contrast in 2012

It looks like there are no seats for the candidates. They just stand on stage with the mic. It's a bit awkward.

DeMint question: If you are president what are the things in D.C. you'd downside, eliminate?

Bachmann says Obamacare and the individual mandate. The Czars. Says refusing to defend DOMA and immigration holds violate presidential oath. Dept. of Education as example of unconstitutional incursion.

Bachmann asked about Obama's job's speech. 0% rate on repatriation (Perry said the same this morning at his townhall). Would make corporate tax rate 20%. Moratorium on ObamaCare.

DeMint asked about union influence and right-to-work. Bachmann supports a national right-to-work law. Mentions the NLRB and Boeing.

King's turn for Bachmann: are we still Reagan's "shining city on a hill?" She says we are. She says it's from the book of Matthew and mentions John Winthrop. Says constitutional principles will ensure it.

What would she do to take us beyond that "shining city on a hill?" She's talking about ObamaCare. Would change the tax system. Says overspending is a moral issue.

Would she pick consumption tax over production tax? She says consumption.

She's asked what the pillars of American exceptionalism are. She mentioned the Declaration. Rights from God. Gov't rules only by consent of governed.

Followup: Does that include the Bill of Rights? Free enterprise capitalism? Rule of law? She says yes.

Professor's turn with Bachmann.

Is a constitutional amendment required to overturn Roe vs. Wade or does the 14th amendment give Congress the ability to end it.

She says yes but then she says she'd put forth a life amendment. He follows up again with the 14th amendment and she backtracks saying Congress could use it. Discussion of Lincoln and Jefferson and the role of the judiciary. (I lost the stream so I missed some of the exchange.)

She was asked about individual mandate. She repeats claim the federal constitution bars states from having an individual mandate but can't give a provision when pressed.

Bachmann finished.
