A prominent Democratic campaign treasurer who works for federal, state and O.C. lawmakers including U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein. Rep. Loretta Sanchez and state Assemblymen Lou Correa and Jose Solorio has been arrested by the FBI on suspicion of mail fraud, The Orange County Register has learned.
U.S. Attorney's Office spokesman Thom Mrozek confirmed Saturday afternoon that Kinde Durkee of Burbank-based Durkee and Associates, was arrested by the FBI on a criminal complaint filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Sacramento. Special Agent Steve Dupre of the bureau’s Sacramento office said she was arrested in connection with her position as a campaign treasurer.

Durkee also oversaw the political-action committees of the Democratic Party of Orange County and the Democratic Foundation of Orange County, among others.
Durkee and Associates says on its website: “Since 1972 we have worked for 5 presidential campaigns, 4 gubernatorial campaigns, numerous senate, congressional, state and local candidates, initiatives, political action committees and many non-profit associates and small businesses.”

The OC Register must be a right of center newspaper. Not only did they mention his Democratic party affiliation, they stuck it in the very first sentence. Only three words in.
There's a zillion ways to scam using non-profits, PACS, and other campaign accounts.
1. Lack of internal control policies;
2. Difficulties in obtaining documentation;
3. Untimely account balance reconciliations;
4. Lack of compensating controls in: journal entries, bank reconciliations, cash disbursements, and utility billing revenues;
5. No consistent process of financial enties;
6. Excessive financial entries made to correct or adjust initial entries;
7. Bank reconciliations not correctly reconciled to general ledger.
Did Kinde use the Madoff MO to stash stolen money? Bernie's Ponzi assets were stashed in a super-secret labyrinth of interrelated international funds, institutions and financial entities of almost unparalleled complexity and breadth......with assets and businesses in multiple places overseas that hid thievery, money laundering and tax evasion.

According to the “Sacrement Bee” Kinde Durkee has been arrested for “mail fraud.”
Kinde Durkee, a self-professed professional of the campaign finance industry and leader of Durkee and Associates, is no stranger to campaign finance troubles.
A quick review of the FEC’s own web site reveals that at least 4 times in recent years, Ms. Durkee or her firm has been mentioned in Federal Election Commission publicly released articles because of campaign finance related problems.
1. MUR 5304, “Contributions in the name of another; use of state (non-federal) funds in connection with a federal election,”
2. MUR 6140, “The complaint alleged that the respondents violated the personal use provisions of the Act by using campaign funds to buy clothing for candidates.”
3. MUR 5418, “Excessive contributions,”
4. MUR 5569, “The complaint has multiple allegations of illegal contributions and expenditures and asserts. . .”
Issues that a true professional should have been able to steer their fee paying client away from.
So now this begs the questions, “Where was the FEC” and “How is it they failed to act more aggressively” in the prevention of these illegal acts?
Were any of Durkee’s clients, the federal campaign funds she served, ever audited? No? Then why not? It’s not like she wasn’t on anyone’s “radar.”
Or was it?
Here’s an example of the “ugly” people that the liberals want to consider as needing special legislative protection in the marketplace of the unemployed.(ugly vs. good looking applicants)
But in Dem circles, who knew what when, where and who? It might be an upper political implication than we now know.
Kinde needs some serious therapy time with Mooshell.
