Palin Watch Continues: No Announcement In Iowa Speech
By Robin Abcarian Los Angeles Times September 3, 2011 Reporting from Indianola, Iowa Sarah Palin did not announce a presidential candidacy Saturday in her speech to the Tea Party of America.
Instead, she hit the usual "tea party" high notes about the dangers of a second Obama term and the perilous financial situation the country faces.
But in addition to those familiar themes, she also unleashed a high spirited attack on corporate crony capitalism and the permanent political class.
It was not lost on the crowd of about 2,000 that a certain Texas governor has spent most of his career in office and has been accused of rewarding his financial backers. That man, Rick Perry, is widely considered the current frontrunner for the nomination.
Sounding very much like a candidate, she proposed her own plan for economic recovery, including repealing Obamacare, focusing on energy independence by developing Americas natural resources, and putting an end to the federal corporate income tax. This she said, is how we create millions of high-paying jobs.
To offset the loss of government revenue, she said, she would eliminate corporate welfarethe loopholes and bailouts.
Barack Obama promised to cut the deficit in half. Instead he turned around and tripled it, she said. Barack Obama is adrift, she said at another point. He doesnt make sense.
Who wants to win the future by investing in hare-brained ideas like solar panels and really fast trains? These, she said, are non-starters . . . . All aboard Obamas bullet train to bankruptcy.

Don’t forget Todd’s Birthday (47th) is on Sept 6.
I’ve been guessing CONSTITUTION DAY, September 17, but I have no idea if she has a speech scheduled or planned for that day.
GO SARAH!
AH! We’re on the same date!
Listen to Bob and Mark!
“Its also fun to watch lefty / lib heads explode after her speeches and appearances.
Dont retreat - reload!”
LMAO 100% right and like our General Stormin Norman said “ the best is yet to come”
Oh gee! What day is that? Tuesday?
YIKES!
In this era, believing that Palin is greatly loved by all and worship the ground she walks on, but the media is covering all of that up, is pure delusion.
Palin could enter the race all she wants, but her numbers won't change all that much. She will have that 10 to 15% loyal die hard fan base, but the main voting public will go for the more moderate kind of candidate.
The big money is already headed Perry's way. From Big Oil to Coal, to Industry. An 11 year Governor from a state the size and complexity of Texas, with an extremely solid economic record, is what will win this election.
When did Obama enter the primary for 2008 ?
And another PDSer chimes in.
Those moderates always win....LOL.
Well if she were to announce she would draw in tons of money in a very short time. I do not think she will run but I love the fact that there is always room for one more. A 22 minute speech that was good, and 45 minutes mixing with the folks. Sarah is special because of her connection with the folks. She is money and very valuable to the mission of making Obama a one term President and gaining 15 Senate seats and more House seats. She is like no one else and will put her political capital where she feels it best serves the country.
That’s not a complaint that I hear from anyone that I know. But have heard a few FReepers say it. I don’t find her difficult to listen to at all. Maybe a higher voice bothers some people. Parakeets respond better to female voices. :-)
Thanks for your reply, Polybius.
It’s more facts I wasn’t aware of. Incidentally, that’s why I like FR; I learn so much.
Best wishes to you and yours.
And he'll owe all of them favors. With us footing the bill. THAT is the problem and YOU support it.
Sarah isn't for sale.
LOL... nice to see a post that “gets it”! Great.
And when I unload that high 4 figure donation to my candidate, I'll remember the “friendly” treatment that the Palin crowd seems to inflict on the competition.
The company I represent (Big Oil) plans a solid 6 figure donation as well, and it won't be Palin. It will be going to Perry.
Read his bio.
you wield such power! we cower at your influence! (yawn...)
