Palin Watch Continues: No Announcement In Iowa Speech
By Robin Abcarian Los Angeles Times September 3, 2011 Reporting from Indianola, Iowa Sarah Palin did not announce a presidential candidacy Saturday in her speech to the Tea Party of America.
Instead, she hit the usual "tea party" high notes about the dangers of a second Obama term and the perilous financial situation the country faces.
But in addition to those familiar themes, she also unleashed a high spirited attack on corporate crony capitalism and the permanent political class.
It was not lost on the crowd of about 2,000 that a certain Texas governor has spent most of his career in office and has been accused of rewarding his financial backers. That man, Rick Perry, is widely considered the current frontrunner for the nomination.
Sounding very much like a candidate, she proposed her own plan for economic recovery, including repealing Obamacare, focusing on energy independence by developing Americas natural resources, and putting an end to the federal corporate income tax. This she said, is how we create millions of high-paying jobs.
To offset the loss of government revenue, she said, she would eliminate corporate welfarethe loopholes and bailouts.
Barack Obama promised to cut the deficit in half. Instead he turned around and tripled it, she said. Barack Obama is adrift, she said at another point. He doesnt make sense.
Who wants to win the future by investing in hare-brained ideas like solar panels and really fast trains? These, she said, are non-starters . . . . All aboard Obamas bullet train to bankruptcy.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Reagan didn’t throw his hat in the ring until November.
She’s going to announce.
She will announce after the debate on Thursday. Probably after the week-end after the dust has settled and the results of the Thursday debate are known.
It’s too late and besides she’s too conservative! We need an establishment figure, one the bosses can approve of! An open borders Republican can get the La Raza vote away from Obama!
/s
It was November 13, 1979.
I’m going to have to make a sub-directory (folder) for all of these pics :o
September 17, 2011 — Constitution Day.
/s whew, I was hot for a second...<:o))
Not to be a snark, but if I had a nickel for every “Palin will announce on _____” post on FR, I could pay MooseChelle’s vacation bills for a year.
No question in my mind she’s gonna throw her hat in the ring.
The BIG question- WHEN?
I think we are close to her committing,But it sure is fun to watch Sarah during these times.
It’s also fun to watch lefty / lib heads explode after her speeches and appearances.
Don’t retreat - reload!
You are correct.
In the PRE-Intenet Era and in the PRE-Cable TV & PRE-Satellite TV Era when all your information came through CBS, NBC, ABC and the newspaper or magazine you subscribed to, the World moved at a much more leisurely pace dictated by the Big Three TV networks, by the New York Times and by the Washington Post.
By contrast, in the Intenet Era and in the Cable TV & Satellite TV Era, the political landscape is on "Fast Forward". Just ask Tim Pawlenty.
In November of 1979, Ronald Reagan possessed a large, professional, well-oiled political machine and fundraising machine built up in his 1976 campaign and over the next four years.
By contrast, in September of 2011, Sarah Palin has not made any efforts to create a campaign infrastructure and the major donors and professional staff have already been courted and won by other candidates.
Diffrent Era. Different World. Different pace. Same fact that, without a campaign infrastucture, you are burnt toast.
She just seems like good person.......the kind of person that would help out with the dishes after she stopped over for dinner.....
I am still not on board the “run Sarah run” bandwagon, but she will have my support if she is our candidate.....
If Palin runs, she is not going to use tired political hacks. Nor big donors that she will owe favors.
You want to get a clue? Listen to her speech today. It's posted.
WONDERFUL PHOTOS!
LOL. Clueless PDSer already posted. S/he is fast to the Palin threads.
Who needs an announcement? Her campaign is going great without it.
