WASHINGTON US officials have approved the distribution of a gay-themed magazine at Army and Air Force bases for the first time, coinciding with the end of a ban on openly gay troops, according to activists.
OutServe Magazine, which caters to gay members of the armed forces, said it would deliver a special "repeal issue" on September 20, the day the prohibition against openly gay US service members is due to officially end.
The upcoming edition will feature photos and biographies of nearly 100 service members who will be openly acknowledging their sexual orientation, the magazine said on its website on Friday.
"This marks an incredible time in the history of our military. Gay, lesbian, and bisexual servicemembers once had to conceal their true identities," said a OutServe co-director on the website, who withheld his or her identity while the ban remains in effect.
"By featuring their pictures and their stories, we are signaling that time has passed. It is time for these military members to be honored for their extraordinary commitment and sacrifice in defense of our country," the co-director said.
The US Army and Air Force Exchange Service, which oversees merchandise and restaurants permitted to operate on military bases, approved the distribution of the magazine on publication racks, defense officials said.
"The Army Air Force Exchange Service centrally contracts for the distribution of free publications," a defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told AFP.
Former soldiers and gay rights groups have fought for years to overturn the ban, introduced in 1993 as a compromise after military chiefs rejected a bid by former president Bill Clinton to open the doors to gay soldiers.

In fact, the allowing of this will only serve to attract homosexual deviants into the military. And just as the Catholic Church has discovered to its dismay, homosexual perverts cannot restrain themselves as normal men do. Whatever these twisted pigs infiltrate, they will try to bring down to their level, and destroy it. DANG it is hard to watch our nation destroy itself from within.
When they choose to out themselves as perverts, that’s enough of a red flag. I am not going to presume that they DON’T have deviant designs on others, including children.
The homo agenda is already prevalent in schools, so obviously it is an important goal to get to and corrupt the children. This in itself is child molestation, because the children’s minds are being molested.
Our society has a million camels’ noses under the tent, yet a good portion of the tent-dwellers are content not to assume anything more than a casual sniff. Worse, many expect or demand that others see no risk.
Check out the article below, it ties a lot of loose ends together. Especially pedophilia and homosexuality.

Does this happen often or just occasionally?
Dunno. It happened to a soldier I know. He’s now back in the war zone ... so please pray for him. He gave me the impression that some gay soldiers knew that a revocation of DADT was coming, so they could do what they wanted.
Good they are giving a list of who to avoid.
but that's what you get when your military becomes mercenary....
Accessorize, accessorize, accessorize. Those boots are faaaabulous.
we better get our act together....
I am assuming now that we have a majority in Congress that the pubs will find and appoint strong minded men into the academies...
we need a new breed of leaders that's for sure...
DADT repeal...putting the “Unnngh!” in gung-ho.
>>> What is the use of “Barf Alert?”
It’s primary function has little to do with the article directly but mostly serves as a bright waving flag for the poster to advertise his or her righteousness.
Barf Alert translates to “Hey guys I don’t like what these people in the article are doing/saying/thinking/or just their looks so much I feel obligated to you to advertise this in the topic itself instead of waiting for you to click and read what I might actually comment. Aren’t I special.”
Here’s some reasons why homosexuals in the military are not a good thing.

Just the Air Force.
I thought I already covered this adequately just as I also said I retracted the statement because it added nothing to the discussion.
The idea that the military would end its long-standing policy against open homosexual behavior is objectionable enough, but to then promote said behavior as a healthy lifestyle with this magazine in the exchange is truly “barf-worthy”.
It’s triple bagger projectile nonstop barfing bile alert.
Makes me less apt to support the military (at least the brass & policies)..
LOL. Well, I was trying to back away from that. But, seeing how you stated that so eloquently, I might have to retract my retraction. :-D
