In the three years since, all I've seen out of the GOP is the Republican leadership and its operatives plunging their knives into Palin's back, and leaving her all alone to fight against the Rat lib attacks, both in Alaska and after Tucson. I therefore have NO loyalty to the GOP or its other candidates.

Exactly. Where were the other candidates in the last few years while Sarah was being virtually stabbed to death by vitriolic attacks from the left?

Did a single one of them stand up and say "Stop it!"? I don't remember any of them coming to her defense. They sure did court her endorsements, though, didn't they?

As far as I'm concerned, they've all failed the personal integrity test, and can take a flying leap.
