Sarah Palin will swoop into Iowa and New Hampshire to speak at tea party rallies this Labor Day weekend, whipping up talk she will announce her candidacy for president. After all, this coming Saturday will mark the third anniversary of her acceptance speech for vice president at the Republican National Convention a speech which established her as both a conservative icon and a magnet for criticism.
Her supporters are certainly encouraging talk she will be a 2012 candidate. Peter Singleton, her Iowa political organizer, told National Reviews Robert Costa last month: I believe she will run. Labor Day will kick off the Republican campaign for the nomination. She is going to make a major, major speech.
But Team Palin is extremely sensitive about anyone else who speculates about what shes up to. Karl Rove, President Bushs political strategist, told Fox News last month he thought Palins schedule in Iowa meant she would announce her candidacy this coming weekend. That prompted this riposte from Team Palin on the website of her PAC:
Any professional pundit claiming to have inside information regarding Governor Palins personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public.
At the risk of being accused of misleading people, let me state that Sarah Palin isnt running for president.

It isn't that she had her picture taken with them. It is that she put that in, out of all the clips she could chose from, in her video. Leaves things open to speculation as we are seeing here.
Yes he would because he is writing from the perspective that he has some ‘inside’ knowledge, very much the same as Rove did. Fund’s opinion isn’t any different from here on FR *except* he’s using his MSM position to opine.
That is his job. Haven't you read any Fund pieces before?
For the people who are certain that Palin is running, what will your response be if she does NOT run?
As I said, it’s wishful thinking by a certain faction on FR. It’s the very thing Palin has been fighting AGAINST and all of a sudden Fund thinks he’s had some exclusive revelation from Palin and/or her actions? Please.
Fund is ghost writing a book for Bachmann.
No bias, there - right!
Why would I read the opinions of an inside the beltway RINO hack?
It helps to understand after reading the article. John Fund uses all the combined logic of the Sarah Palin detractors. He offers absolutely nothing new other than his own warped thinking. I cringe every time he appears on a FOX program posing as a conservative commentator. Palin is running!... her critics be damned!
Fund has been yucking it up with his pals on the John Batchelor show for months sneering at her chances and saying she isn't running. On 8/15, he had this to say about Palin's appearance in Ames:
"Palin, Inc. has a very large department tucked away in the back corner that's called the Dept. of Head Fakes...(laughter)...and it is designed to try to convince as many people as possible that she is a potential presidential candidate when she has no intention of doing so. I would be thunderst....I would be struck dumb if Sarah Palin entered this race. Michele Bachmann, for better or worse, has taken much of her space and perhaps even extended it." .(Note: No mention by Mr. Fund or the show host that he is collaborating on a book with Bachmann. He always forgets to add that little diddy.)
.
.
"Sarah Palin is....well Sarah Palin can't afford to give up all that her celebrity status gives to spend the next nine months in Holiday Inns."
I think Fund’s point is that that particular piece of footage would have been edited out if Sarah wasn’t going to support Perry. From looking at the screen shots posted, I wouldn’t have known what the T-shirts said if I hadn’t already read the article, and I certainly didn’t notice them the three times I watched the video prior to reading this article. I think this is a bit of a stretch on Fund’s part.
He’s also stretching when he quotes her as saying she would get in if she couldn’t find anyone else to support, and then uses that quote as a reason why she won’t run, assuming she would be supporting Perry. As another FReeper already posted, she said she hadn’t found anyone she could support a few days after Perry announced his candidacy.
"I'm disappointed. She was the conservative I would have supported from start to finish. But life goes on. Now, I shift my support to Bachmann and Cain. After that, who knows. But it won't be Slick Rick or Myth Romney. Of course, I will have popcorn on hand as all the Perrydrones clamor and cry that Palin must endorse him... good times to come!"
M. Kelly video from August 18th (11:42) When asked what would make Palin get in the race...PALIN:(quickly typed)... still looking for a candidate I can get my heart and soul behind to support if I don't see that person in short order I would be willing to put my name forward in the name of service...
KELLY: Have you not found him or her yet?
PALIN: No, I'm impressed with the line up but there still is quite a long process, lot of coming and goings with this line up... I know I'm not the only potential candidate sitting on the sidelines waiting to see things unfold.
And from 8/12:
I was quite sure that he wasnt going to run, because he was adamant until about four months ago that he wasnt going to run, she said. But she was quick to add that Perrys change of heart was fine. I was surprised that he had changed his position on that, but Im glad that hes going to be in there.
A reporter asked whether, if Obama had committed that sort of flip-flop, she would be more critical, she laughed. I probably would, to tell you the truth, she said
Even with Perry in the race, she said, I see room in the field. Definitely. If at the end of the line hes the one left standing, I would be extremely enthused about him because Im a believer in ABO anybody but Obama. So, absolutely. But theres still a long time in this process, Palin said, adding that Perrys entry doesnt affect her decision making.

Bless your heart for trying... again.
Sarah is voting for Bachmann has been from the beginning..
As ANY good conservative will do...
Anybody with any sense knows Romney and Perry are shills for the Main Stream media..
Thats why they HATE Michele Bachmann.. she gets the FLAK because shes over the target..
Perry and Romney are BOMBING farmland.. and haystacks..
Most on FR understand all of this. But a wishful faction, well, YOU know...
He may be wrong about Gov. Palin, but Fund is no idiot.
ONLY Bachmann will reduce the size and scope of federal government..
the others will go “himna himna himna” in Jackie Gleason style fumforting..
Yeah. Fund is a inside the beltway hack. He is one of the few to help bring light to many ACORN corruption stories and was on Becks show a number of times on different Obummer abuse stories he investigated. Stuff no one else wanted to touch. He is also constantly investigating voter corruption by the Rats. Exposing every detail of their schemes. Some insider. You should try educating yourself on someone before you trash them with baseless charges.
So she shouldve refused to be photographed with people because of their t-shirts.
