Sarah Palin will swoop into Iowa and New Hampshire to speak at tea party rallies this Labor Day weekend, whipping up talk she will announce her candidacy for president. After all, this coming Saturday will mark the third anniversary of her acceptance speech for vice president at the Republican National Convention a speech which established her as both a conservative icon and a magnet for criticism.
Her supporters are certainly encouraging talk she will be a 2012 candidate. Peter Singleton, her Iowa political organizer, told National Reviews Robert Costa last month: I believe she will run. Labor Day will kick off the Republican campaign for the nomination. She is going to make a major, major speech.
But Team Palin is extremely sensitive about anyone else who speculates about what shes up to. Karl Rove, President Bushs political strategist, told Fox News last month he thought Palins schedule in Iowa meant she would announce her candidacy this coming weekend. That prompted this riposte from Team Palin on the website of her PAC:
Any professional pundit claiming to have inside information regarding Governor Palins personal decision is not only wrong but their comments are specifically intended to mislead the American public.
At the risk of being accused of misleading people, let me state that Sarah Palin isnt running for president.

They are all going to look pretty silly when she announces.
“In a recent slickly-produced video producer by Team Palin that chronicles her bus tour of Iowa, Palin shakes hands with a girl in an Americans for Rick Perry T-shirt and then poses for a photo with the girl and her fellow Perry supporters.
Given the elaborate editing that went into this production, is it likely that Palin would have approved a visual nod to Perry as a mere coincidence? asks blogger Robert Stacy McCain, a keen-eyed Palin watcher. I dont think so.
Indeed, Republican governors tell me that while Palin and Perry attended meetings as fellow governors from 2007 to 2009, they clearly bonded. As executives of the two biggest energy-producing states in the country they had a lot in common and were simpatico on issues, one governor told me last week. You could also say they are both larger-than-life personalities who no doubt learned from each other in the publicity department.
Interesting.
Oh, sure, you “worship” “the quitter”.
Well there is some benefit to the *Sarah can't run/not running/might run* threads, it keeps our minds off the bad jobs report, market tanking again and OBozo going off on another holiday/vacation to Camp David :^)
“...is it likely that Palin would have approved a visual nod to Perry as a mere coincidence?
I would have to think NO.
I didn’t read the linked article, so I am only responding to your post.
I did watch that video, but I didn’t notice that part. It was very well made and, as in all such vids, you know they shot HOURS of film. One has to assume every single thing that makes it into the final product is there on purpose. I mean, I’m sure Palin posed with scores of cute kids, etc.
I think if Palin endorses Perry he is a lock to win the nom.
Now, off topic of politics, but related to the concept of cutting a short video out of much film: how is it possible that the ad for the new Sarah Jessica Parker movie is so awful? It has Parker, Pierce Brosnan and Kelsey Grammer in it, it’s got to be at least 90 minutes long, and they could not cut a 30 second ad that makes it look anything other than dreadful. Like Ishtar level bad.
Fair weather, *user* friends. Typical, self-centered politicians. Screw them. She learns the hard way. The good hearted always do.
God bless and protect her.
After all shes really just in it for the attention and money... ;)

I’ve always hated that line. Options:
1) They’re ALL in it for the money.
2) #1, except for the rare gem. Who is that gem? Dunno.
I love what you wrote and I think you’re right.
LOL. Zactly!
If she's so hated, why would her endorsement do anyone any good? LOL.
I don’t think anyone on FR hates Palin. There are people like myself that just don’t think she will run. What is wrong with debating that point? That is a far cry from hating her.
Versus Obama. It is misleading to use that quote out of context.
Sheeeesh! Nobody's misleading anyone. Relax. The quote was in response to someone suggesting Palin wouldn't support Romney. If he were the last man standing, she would. I linked the article. I certainly wasn't hiding context. Have a drink.
Yeah...good memory; he came out better than what appeared at first, but a bit sketchy nonetheless. Enjoy your three day-er (sorry, but lately I’ve had trouble using the “L” word).
Since Paul Harvey is no longer with us, I guess I'll have to add "the rest of the story".
At that last Republican governors' conference in 2009 Palin was the featured guest and attendees and media had been promised an extended question and answer session (~15 minutes) with Palin. However, after only about 4 minutes Rick Perry stepped in and shut down the session. It was rudely done and video of the scene shows Palin was obviously annoyed, as were the waiting questioners.
When you connect the dots it's evident that Perry has mostly used Palin for his own benefit, while his reciprocation has been almost non-existent.
Oh yeah, there are several. Have a nice weekend.
\
LOL. Yep, the commie day weekend! You betcha and you too!
"He walks the walk of a true conservative," Palin writes. "And he sticks by his guns -- and you know how I feel about guns."
This is from a The Hill article last month:
In fact, during the midst of her recent bus tour, Palin brought Perrys name up again, unprompted, telling a group of reporters in Baltimore, I think he would be a fine candidate. We have a lot in common.
She added: I really like him.

I have yet to find this dislike between the two Gov's that you claim.
she says there's no one in the race RIGHT NOW that she can get behind:
That is not what she said. She said there was no one in the race that she was ready to support RIGHT NOW.
She said she was watching the field, which she called "impressive". She's deciding if she can support any of them, and I presume she is doing so seriously, and it will include the debate and how they handle themselves and are received.
