DES MOINES, Iowa -- Though she won't be a candidate when she delivers a major address at a tea party rally in Iowa on Saturday, Sarah Palin will make it clear that she if enters the presidential race later this month she will vociferously challenge Texas Gov. Rick Perrys engrained image of solidarity with the tea party movement.
In her speech at the bucolic National Balloon Classic field in Indianola, Palin will lean on loaded phrases like crony capitalism and permanent political class in laying out her view of the U.S. political systems deep-rooted ills, according to a source close to Palin and familiar with the content of the speech.
Though she will not call Perry out by name, Palins carefully couched rhetoric will leave the impression that she may soon draw more overt attention to one of the Texans potential vulnerabilities as a candidate: his history of doling out plum positions and other benefits to generous campaign donors during his nearly 11-year tenure as the nations longest serving governor.

He INTENDED to quit? Really?
By all accounts he had no intention of running for President until recently. Perhaps he looked at the field and found it lacking (I disagree I think Cain is an outstanding candidate) and jumped in....kind of like....Palin is supposed to be doing?
Wait....What? ;-)
Thanks for the ping.
So you can now read minds? Or do you have a quote from Perry somewhere stating that as a fact? If not, you are just inserting your own insane delusions about Perry in order to fit the narrative you have created. (By the way - Perry hasn't quit - he is still governor of Texas. And there is a difference between quitting and getting promoted!)
What platitudes? She might be saying things we all believe in - which gives the feeling of ‘platitude’... but isn’t that the point? We know where she stands - we know what she believes... Can you give me a few examples?
He did. He declared late, Nov 13, 1979. Where have you been?
You have no idea how hard I'm laughing.
I love Sarah Palin and I’m not one bit disappointed. All of the chatter about Palin is created by the media and her many opponents and enemies. Few candidates could withstand the pressure cooker and vicious attacks thrown at her daily by media, celebrity, democrat, republican. That she still stands there - holding her ground - still smiling - still energetic - still resolved to speak her own mind and not talking points ... disappointed? Not by a long shot.
We live in a drive through, instant access, fast speed society. Sarah is doing everything in her own time with her own agenda. If she announces tomorrow, next week, or on Christmas day ... I’m right behind her. And if she never announces? I’m okay with that too. She owes us nothing.
Is he running? YUP! Career politician, baby!
Yeah, because some people actually care about the topic. But you stick to your tabloids and waiting for Palin to deny those alleged affairs, k?
No one is above reproach. If the candidates can’t handle sting from Palin, they will never survive the vetting from the MSM.
I’m afraid you are right.
Anyone that has 'cemented in' their vote MONTHS before the primary has issues...look what happened to President Bush THREE DAYS before the 2000 Presidential election re: DUI charge.
NOTHING is 'in cement' until it is time to vote...
Sh!t’n rocks.

The event Saturday is from 11-2 Central time. I read somewhere that her speech will be at 12:30. That doesn’t sound right to me, I would think her speech would be the last thing. Anyway, CSPAN is to air the entire event; FOX and CNN to air her speech only [is what I read the other day].

Palin said this AFTER Perry got in the race:
M. Kelly video from August 18th (11:42) When asked what would make Palin get in the race...PALIN:(quickly typed)... still looking for a candidate I can get my heart and soul behind to support if I don't see that person in short order I would be willing to put my name forward in the name of service...
KELLY: Have you not found him or her yet?
PALIN: No, I'm impressed with the line up but there still is quite a long process, lot of coming and goings with this line up... I know I'm not the only potential candidate sitting on the sidelines waiting to see things unfold.
Mesta, wanna add yours in too?
The Gibson story would take off like wildfire if she mentions it. Most people love music, and to learn Obama is pulling this crap would be a media firestorm.
Glad to know I could bring a smile to your face, but at least he can make a decision!
Why should Perry’s record be above reproach? If there are actions inconsistent with conservatism, I would hope EVERY candidate, conservative, etc. would expose and criticize it.
perry-sites... they feed off the host and give nothing in return.
