NBC Television and the White House are in ongoing discussions over coverage of President Obama's jobs speech and the NFL kick-off between the Packers and Saints.
Yesterday the White House announced that the presidential address would be over before kickoff at 7:30 next Thursday. But NBC was also planning to show extensive pre-game coverage, including some live concerts outside Lambeau Field about an hour before the game.

I love to watch the singing of our National Anthem, usually, and the flyover. To h*ll with owebama, the POS, JMHO of course. Loosen the dung beetles.
Obama did what he needed to do. They’re all blaming Boehner. Mission accomplished.
That is SUCH a good idea for someone that has an email list for the pubs...
.
Why does the speech have to be broadcast anyway?
Let Congress be bored to death, most Americans have better things to do anyway than watching King Barry’s head swivel back and forth as he reads copy from his teleprompters.
President Bobble Head needs to understand that no one really gives a shit what his teleprompter has to say.
Again, kudos to Boehner on throwing this back in their face. Bastards.
Republicans won’t watch, and football fans will tune him out. Average democrats are bored to tears with his speeches, and even news talking heads say he has been endlessly repeating himself....Groundhog Day.
Therefore, this is the perfect time for Obama to make a wild announcement while very few are paying attention.
Sort of like Pelosi and ObamaCare: We won’t know what’s in it ‘til we pass it.
I don’t trust the man. He could declare a crisis, martial law, and call out the National Guard.
I will be watching college football too. I was a week or so ago wondering if I might check out a bit of NBC NFL this season, since Olbermann had been banished.
What is really annoying is the media meme....saying Boehners reason for saying no to Hussein was because of the debate. Being repeated CONSTANTLY on tv. Boehners letter has nothing to say about the debate.
Yeh, wasn’t his reason related to having enough time after recess to securing the House for the president’s speech?
It will just be more of the same: lie, lie, me, me, I, I lie, lie me oh I forgot his most constant answer “Present” followed by another lie.
