Mean while, Mississippi delta farms are still out of business after the army corps flooded them.

Real loss is being experienced because of these floods. Don't worry though, Captain BarryObumbles had a photo taken of him leading the rescue last weekend. Since then, his primary concern seems to be blaming the GOP for moving some sort of speech he thinks he needs to give to a joint session of Congress.

Are we to understand that none of these businesses carried insurance?

How about private flood insurance for businesses in a flood plain? Oh, right, that’s not a viable product when the government gives away payouts free.

FEMA is like the dog Dug in the movie Up. FEMA starts on one disaster and becomes easily distracted by the next. Look Earthquake, oh Flood, oh Hurricane!

And I have news for the businesses, this government will not help you evil profiteering organizations! Eat your peas!

The people in the North are about to find out that when hurricanes hit the South, no one expects Fema to come to the rescue. The myth of the Katrina screech was that FEMA was responsible and able to tend to the city and citizens of New Orleans before Boooosh. That was a lie.

The property owners have to do the work to clean up, the flood insurance pays the bills through their insurance company. But even then, property owners who don’t have cash to begin the process of clean up right away will suffer while the mold grows as the slow wheels of flood insurance turn.

FEMA makes sure it is a worse pain in the ass. If private property owners don’t have flood insurance from the government via an insurance company, they have to incur the total cost of cleaning up and rebuilding themselves. If they can not afford that cost, all is lost and they have to start over.

The city and State and utilities have to be organized ahead of time for the restoration of public property and services to occur and then the States and cities can apply to FEMA for reimbursement which may or may not come for many years.

If anyone waits for FEMA, they will be stuck in mud and disease and waiting forever. They will cause themselves worse economic loss the longer they wait. Employees are best off if they consider the job loss permanent and immediately look for new work rather than waiting for repair of employer property. Everyone is poorer in the aftermath of flooding.
