Sarah Palin is giving indecision a bad name.
Not only can't she decide whether to run for president, this week she even waffled over whether to keep a date to speak at a "tea party" rally in Iowa on Sunday, a Sarah-palooza her devotees have been organizing for weeks.
Every other serious Republican presidential hopeful has already decided, one way or the other.
But Palin? The former Alaska governor surfaces without warning every month or so, like the Loch Ness monster, to let her supporters know she still exists. She insists that she has what it takes to run for president "that fire in the belly" and that she believes she could win.
And there are reporters like me, who simply yearn to see how Palin would do in the scrum of a genuine GOP debate instead of the carefully chosen, friendly audiences she sticks to now.
But after the last few weeks, all of us love-struck fans and cranky cynics alike are losing hope.
By any rational interpretation of her behavior, Republican strategists say, Palin doesn't appear to intend to run, because she hasn't done any of the quiet but serious preparatory work that a potential candidate normally undertakes.

Poor Doyle. obammy must be dangling those kneepads, again.
Ha ha. If it’s quiet, nobody knows, duh.
The LSM, the GOP establishment, many on this very forum have their respective panties in a wad wanting to know RIGHT NOW whether a woman from Alaska whom they all proclaim to the rooftops couldn't even win a kewpie doll at a state fair is running for President.
Utterly laughable.
I refer you to post #63...
I didnt read your post any farther then that. Any time someone resorts to that type of third grade tactic it diminishes them to totally irrelevant.
she will run.
DRF - I’ve no more insight than anyone else here on FR but I think she is now waiting to see how Perry does in the first round of debates and is absoultely determined that he gets way more vetting before she jumps in. If she gets in on Saturday the spotlight and attack diogs move instantly to her for good or for bad. Although she clearly extolled his virtues for the Governorship of Texas back in November 2010 I believe 2 things may have killed any propsect of an endorsement. Loyalty and honesty matter hugely to the Palins and it is part of their tribe DNA. Since her generous praise in late 2010 Perry abjectly failed to offer ANY public support in January 2011 when she was being accused as an accessory to mass murder (Giffords) and then he lied about his POTUS intentions. Sure everyone is free to change their minds but character matters. Odds on that Todd and Sarah don’t like what they see of this fellow in 2011.
I hope she gets in and gives all the other candidates the most demanding and rugged primary challenge they have ever experienced in their entire political careers. Will do em good!
So all this stuff calling her names because she is not fitting into the ideas of what she ought to be doing is simply to give her continual negative press.
Stop buying their premise. She is doing exactly what she said she was going to do.
So all this stuff calling her names because she is not fitting into the ideas of what she ought to be doing
Can you point to the places in this thread where I, or anyone else, committed this offense of "calling her names?" Because I'm not finding it.
I'll take that as a compliment. When you've been here another decade you'll have learned your mistake.
Amazingly Sarah does not fight back or take on the idle speculations made by many that seemingly are putting her down again and again,
She is one smart lady. Honor her.
