Sarah Palin is giving indecision a bad name.
Not only can't she decide whether to run for president, this week she even waffled over whether to keep a date to speak at a "tea party" rally in Iowa on Sunday, a Sarah-palooza her devotees have been organizing for weeks.
Every other serious Republican presidential hopeful has already decided, one way or the other.
But Palin? The former Alaska governor surfaces without warning every month or so, like the Loch Ness monster, to let her supporters know she still exists. She insists that she has what it takes to run for president "that fire in the belly" and that she believes she could win.
And there are reporters like me, who simply yearn to see how Palin would do in the scrum of a genuine GOP debate instead of the carefully chosen, friendly audiences she sticks to now.
But after the last few weeks, all of us love-struck fans and cranky cynics alike are losing hope.
By any rational interpretation of her behavior, Republican strategists say, Palin doesn't appear to intend to run, because she hasn't done any of the quiet but serious preparatory work that a potential candidate normally undertakes.

PAHLEEESE!
Obama waited 9 months before deciding to send in more troops to Afghanistan. How many of Our brave soldiers died because of HIS indecision?
I musta missed your article on that one, Doyle.
“Palin doesn’t appear to intend to run, because she hasn’t done any of the quiet but serious preparatory work that a potential candidate normally undertakes.”
How the hell would you know what she’s doing?
“Sarah Palin is giving indecision a bad name.”
BS, she made her decision a long time ago, we just don’t what it is yet.
She seems to be acting like a candidate, but not taking that big step on announcing for the office.
I am sure there’s a reason for it.
Perhaps Gov. Palin wants to be a shadow president? She does that well and drives the MSM crazy.
I really like that part!
LOL
I believe you're right.
This is BS.
Reagan declared in November’79.
No one is the boss of Palin’s timetable but Palin.
I do not believe she will run, I do not believe she should run, and I believe that her announcement of what she’s going to do is being carefully thought out as we speak, ESPECIALLY with regard to timing.
But this article is pure 100% BS.
She has a 100% right to run or not run and announce or not announce when and how she sees fit.
All the critics can go jump in a toilet.
She’s playing the lame stream media like a fiddle! They can’t wait to start the hate machine.
I’m going out on a limb and saying that Palin will not only say she’s not running, but she’ll get behind Perry. I think she’s smart enough to know, once we have some momentum behind a good-enough conservative candidate, it would be unwise to deflate his growing popularity by announcing her own presidential run. But God bless her, she’s been helpful in whatever capacity she has put forth.
Good. I hope her indecision is causing you to lose sleep, Doyle. Among other things.
PDS morons seem to think that the Presidential election is in November 2011 and NOT November 2012.
Endless speculation...She either will or she won’t.
I wonder how a Perry/Pallin ticket would work out...................
The Perry factor threw her off course. She wasn’t expecting to have to deal with him.
Still waiting to hear a good reason why she hasn’t yet declared.
“Not decided” might have been a good reason three months ago. Now it’s a bad reason.
Decided yes? Why wait to declare?
Decided no? Why wait to announce?
Come on. Suggest a reason why.
Thus diluting support for any other real conservative, just like Fred did in 2008.
It is usually followed by the Bob Dole memorial swan dive in the general election.
Besides, they have tons of snarky articles and gobs of inuendo already written up to sling at her, and it's just sitting there. Wah, wah, wah....
She'll declare on her terms, not theirs, and the press just hates that.
or is it Rick Connolly???
You may be a Perry supporter but it’s ridiculous to think that Perry has some unstoppable momentum going on because of these early polls surges......the man hasn’t even debated or had a one on one interview yet!!
Plus he is surging off of high expectations, he HAS to maintain or exceed those high expectations in a marathon race not a sprint
Third, people need to quit trying to say that Palin is going to endorsed Perry when she already said many times already that no one sastifies her for endorsement and that included Perry who was in the race when she was asked that question TWICE
It’s not indecision, it is strategy. There are already troops out there on the front line, carrying the fight to Obama, namely, Rick Perry and Michele Bachmann. And doing it all pretty effectively, so it would seem.
Sarah Palin is the guiding light, the beacon that attracts all the looney opposition off to the side, allowing them to crash upon the rocks, while the rest of the movement is steering by True North.
A major part of warfare all down through the centuries is to get your opponent to expend his strength in one direction, while going right up through one of the weakened flanks from another direction.
Hannibal took his fight to Rome by coming in over the Alps, a direction the Romans never expected, braced as they were for an assault from the sea.
Hannibal pressed on, attracting to his columns of troops the various Celt and Gallic warriors, the “tea partiers” of their day, and they soundly thumped the Roman legions again and again.
Until he began running into people who did not think Hannibal’s arrival meant liberation for them.
