Sarah Palin is giving indecision a bad name.
Not only can't she decide whether to run for president, this week she even waffled over whether to keep a date to speak at a "tea party" rally in Iowa on Sunday, a Sarah-palooza her devotees have been organizing for weeks.
Every other serious Republican presidential hopeful has already decided, one way or the other.
But Palin? The former Alaska governor surfaces without warning every month or so, like the Loch Ness monster, to let her supporters know she still exists. She insists that she has what it takes to run for president "that fire in the belly" and that she believes she could win.
And there are reporters like me, who simply yearn to see how Palin would do in the scrum of a genuine GOP debate instead of the carefully chosen, friendly audiences she sticks to now.
But after the last few weeks, all of us love-struck fans and cranky cynics alike are losing hope.
By any rational interpretation of her behavior, Republican strategists say, Palin doesn't appear to intend to run, because she hasn't done any of the quiet but serious preparatory work that a potential candidate normally undertakes.

Reagan didn’t declare until the end of November. What an indecisive wooss!!!
But is Perry "good enough?"
He seems all over the map on positions he's held.
And the only time I've actually heard him speak more than one sentence was on Sean's radio show, where he was a stuttering, stammering mess who had trouble completing a sentence. I'm going to watch the debate because I want to see a complete paragraph from the man
Though he is a good-looking man with a hefty handshake..
3 days ago I found a link to an essay that talked about his strategy. It's been removed after I used it repeatedly. Surprised? I wasn't either.
McANUS... name fits.
LLS
She is going to Korea next week. Does not sound like someone who wants to run to me.
Basil, not sure how that Perry / Palin ticket would work. But I could go for Palin / Perry. I never thought I would want a woman in the Oval Office, but these are sad days when our best man is a woman. Remember Lady Margaret Thatcher. Let’s keep praying and hoping for the best for America
It happened in the Bible too. Her name was Deborah.
Crap article waste of time :P
I would prefer the Palin/Perry ticket more—but I can’t decide which would have a better chance of winning.
I’m not that big of a Perry supporter although he’s been my governor since God was a child, it seems. Like every other politician, he gets some things right, and tried some things that would have been huge mistakes if they had come to fruition.
I think we all start thinking about the next election way too early. By the time it gets close enough to really think about, we’re all worn out from it.
When you have a hostile muckraking author move in next door, and have to go to court against a real live active stalker family who threaten to rape and kill you and your daughters, while you are currently holding no public office, officially announcing for president will only increase the lethal craziness you and your family will have to endure.
Decided no? Why wait to announce?
There are some cynical theories about keeping her books, TV, speaking engagements “brand” more valuable by remaining a possible presidential candidate. I don't think so. I think her meeting with Trump had to do with wanting to make sure the Republicans had a strong, electable conservative (NOT Romney) as their candidate. As long as Palin and Trump publicly keep their options open, they remain a threat to the establishment moderate Republicans. Once both completely withdraw, they lose that outside influence on the party.
...my adjusted for inflation 2 cents.
I’d take this more seriously if people weren’t still trying to get Christie in.
Logically, then, she will never announce -- and never run.
completely withdraw, they lose that outside influence on the party.
Another two months at most and it won't matter if she "completely" withdraws, the window will close in some states. What can she do in these two months but watch people drift away to Perry?
I give it another five days. If she's not in, she's out whether she says so or not, and it'd be very un-Palin to leave it hanging.
And if she doesn’t do either of the above?
And like the dive Reagan had after he declared in November
.. oh wait.
I think the Palin initial planned timeline got adjusted when Perry went back on his word and decided to run after stating he was not and campaigning as a governor of not running for President.
What we are seeing as delay is really an analysis period of the latest candidate and then coming up with the plan on how to best approach him in the primaries.
Perry is still a largely undefined and unknown quantity as a presidential candidate. His previous stance and statements are known, but those are all Texas related and not national or international. You can bet the Palin team is going to watch his debate performance and answers closely. Here is to hoping they don’t just focus on economy or social issues in the debate.
Highly unlikely that she will throw support behind anyone this early.
She is a staunch ABO (anyone but Obama) fan.
So if she does for some VERY UNLIKELY reason decide not to run you will see her go 100% anti-Obama and praise all candidates that differentiate themselves directly with his positions.
If Perry does that, then Palin will be supportive of that specific stance, if Michelle/Cain/Paul/Romney etc does it Palin will supportive of those statements and urge them on.
However....she is running after she finishes adjusting her plan...primarily due to Perry changing his mind and going back on his word and jumping into the race.
Sarah said months ago she would decide by the end of September or so. She is waiting to see if there is a strong candidate conservative with common sense values stepping forward. She is “on for speaking in Iowa”, and all the rumors about her not speaking is bull corn/ horse feathers. Non stop unfounded attacks, on Sarah are attempting to change some of the voters minds about her.
Do not allow the biased press socialist liberals to turn us away from the best candidate out there. She might be great as a Vice President candidate with a strong conservative President Candidate too. Perhaps Perry. She is a great ambassador to foreign nations, speaks well with the people of America, and would grow in her knowledge of the leadership of America and the whole world.
Get off her back!!!
There's nothing quite like a false analogy to make a supposed argument. Seeing as you apparently flunked middle school, I'll explain this.
The fan dance gambit a party/media racket "potentially" running a supposed conservative to prevent a committed conservative candidate from gaining ground so that a "he can win" RINO can get the nomination. That is exactly what globalist Fred Thompson did with his "run" in 2008. The swan dive is when said RINO tosses it to the Slave Party thug. Dole was the RINO nominee who took the swan dive in the general election, as did McCain.
There is no analogy here to Reagan's run. He was the real thing, he was the only conservative in the race, and as former governor of California he got plenty of mediot oxygen.
OTOH, Sarah Palin's supposed "conservatism" is more feel-good fuzzy posturing than is represented by her record of administration. There are other proven conservatives in the race but they need attention to gain traction. Palin robs them of oxygen while the likes of Perry gain ground. My guess is she'll get an Arizona senate seat as a reward.
People are getting off her bandwagon, never mind her back. You have to be a complete KAD not to see it.
I'm not thrilled with Perry but leaders do not dither. They're in or out and they don't need all summer to gauge which way the wind is blowing.
