Oh and PEW is a lefty organization. I wouldn’t believe anything they said if THEIR mothers life depended on it.

Not “criticism for not being a better attorney than the attorneys”, but criticism for gullibility, for over-trusting her own attorneys?

Kinda like the over-trusting way she went in to the Gibson/Couric interviews in ‘08, apparently having seen how polite and sweet G&C were to various affirmative action/minority liberals in the recent past and somehow expecting similar sugar.

"Palin might use the September 3 address to endorse another candidate. She might use it to make it clear she will announce at some point – Governor Perry used that same sort of slow-unveiling strategy as he edged into the race.

Wow if this happened, the collective explosion of Palinite heads would be near nuclear. September 4th may be a real interesting day here at FR.

You sure your tagline shouldn't say Palin?

No. Right now, we are at the stage where the GOP is going to pick the dog that is going to battle to Obama dog in November of 2012.

I believe that the Bachmann dog would get it's throat ripped out in that dog fight and, on FR, I have pointed out why.

I believe that the Cain dog would get it's throat ripped out in that dog fight and, on FR, I have pointed out why.

I believe that the Palin dog would get it's throat ripped out in that dog fight and, on FR, I have pointed out why.

I believe that my best dog so far, the Perry dog, has some significant potential weaknesses and, on Post 163 of this thread, I have pointed them out and stated quite clearly that I would abandon that dog without a second thought if a better dog capable of actually defeating Obama comes along.

I am not emotionally attached to any particular dog. You obviously are, come Hell or high water or the landslide reelection of Obama.

You love that adorable Toy Poodle Sarah dog so much that you have complete faith that that Toy Poodle can kill the Obama dog when it is obvious to the unemotional observer that that Toy Poddle will only get it's throat ripped out in the November 2012 dog fight.

22 Aug 2011 .... Rasmussen Poll: Obama Does Best Against Palin ...... If Election Day took place right now, President Obama would defeat the former Alaska governor 50 percent to 33 percent, ..... Obama holds a narrow 44 percent to 38 percent lead over Palin among male voters, but women prefer the incumbent by a sizable 56 percent to 29 percent margin.

As the old lawyers' adage goes:

“If you have the law on your side, argue the law; if you have the facts, argue the facts; if you have neither, pound the table.“

While I argue the facts of poll after poll after poll, the Palin supporters pound the table by throwing out ad hominem attacks.

Think about it.

No. You are criticizing her for not catching something even the attorneys didn't see. You expect her to be a better attorney than the attorneys.

I expect that Perry, or Romney, or Cain, or most any other current Repub candidate vying for a position of national leadership would have had the common sense to see how such a law could have been exploited by malefactors against the well-intentioned, just as I would expect that almost any other of the current crop of Republicans would have gone into ‘08 Gibson/Couric interviews armed to the teeth, expecting nothing but trouble from such.

Strawman. You are saying that those candidates would have more knowledge than an attorney when that is simply speculation used to smear Palin.

Again, you are claiming that she should have more knowledge of law and loopholes than the attorneys. That is unfair and you know it. But your hatred is so deep that you'll keep using it.

All depends on what you mean by the term “supporters.”

No straw. Governors hire attorneys, but they don’t let those hirelings be teh deciderer. Where the hell does the buck stop in Alaska? What does Governor mean to you? Who’s in charge, some legal-advice committee? She pushed that law, “championed” it, signed it, made her own bed, couldn’t lay in it, resigned in tears. Did she execute her lawyers before resigning because it was really their fault?

I don’t see why so many can’t see.

No straw.

Of course it is. You used pure speculation to smear Palin. And you have no shame doing it. Btw, the attorney that wrote it was dropped. I don't know what happened to the others that didn't catch flaws.

You are STILL smearing Palin because she wasn't better at law than Alaskas attorneys. That is a HUGE stretch.

“Speculating” is not setting up a straw man. Perry, Romney, Cain, etc. have never had to resign in tears from a leadership position when their own favored policy immediately boomeranged ‘gainst ‘em (though many say flippery-fop Romney should have resigned after a year or two of RomneyCare cost increase.) Attorneys scribble, lie, squirm and advise, Governors govern.

Which one was Sarah, and how long did she last?

“Speculating” is not setting up a straw man.

The heck it's not. You setup a fake scenario then use it to bash Palin. A strawman "pretends that something false is true, so it is intellectually dishonest." That was your premise in a nutshell.

have never had to resign in tears

That's a lie too. I recently rewatched all 20 minutes of her resignation speech. Strong, authoritative, and not a tear.

If you have to make up feces, you won't win.

If you are on a candidates thread simply to bash them I'd advise you not to. The Boss has zotted posters for it and has stated that he will continue to do so.

Polls are not elections. Polls can be easily manipulated. You like many others here seem to live a poll driven life. I will vote for who I believe is the candidate who who restore this country to what it once was. That person is Sarah Palin. If she's willing to sacrifice for her country I'm willing to down with that ship.

Good remarks. Makes sense. I don’t know much about Perry. Just an impression. I still think GWB is a good man. Perry, the jury is out. I saw the movie W, and even though they were trying to make him look bad, I still liked what I saw. Yes, the economy went to hell in a hand-basket as his term came to a close. But something in me can’t help but thinking it was all by design from the Clinton years to hand the nomination to Hillary. The only problem is, Obama came along. I think Bush got too sucked into the war, and forgot to see what was going on at home. That doesnt make him bad, he’s a human, we all mess up, when we least suspect it.
