Rainfall Reports from NC:

Wilmington: 6.47” - virtually continuous since Noon on Friday.
Southport: 11.85”

Also: here’s part of an NWS Drought report, dtd 18-Aug-2011.
This is for the New Bern/Morehead City area:

AS OF AUGUST 17TH...NEW BERN NC HAS RECEIVED A TOTAL OF 17.86 INCHES OF PRECIPITATION DURING 2011...WHICH IS 16.04 INCHES BELOW THE NORMAL PRECIPITATION OF 33.90 INCHES.

Given the doppler rainfall estimate I just saw... they’re (technically) all caught up now.

Central Park in Manhattan just recorded its 5th highest all-time rainfall, at 8” I think it was, less than two weeks ago. It’s been a very wet August up here, so the ground is already saturated.
