Dominion currently shows 624,673 of 2,442,740 customers without power in North Carolina and Virginia - and of course the storm hasn't reached Northern Virginia yet.
Not bad for a tropical depression.
... and it jumped to 632,731 when I refreshed.
Here in CT, the initial number of power outages increases due to overloading on the remaining systems and the need to shut down larger areas for repair.
Outages are already over 661,000 now.
From Greenville (NC) Electric:
12:42 p.m.
All customers south of the Tar River and east of Highway 11
(except Bells Fork) are without power. Approximately
45,000 of GUC's 63,000 electric customers are affected.
Could be a utility company conspiracy or a tropical depression conspiracy...or both
