Karl Rove responds to controversy over his speculation if Fmr. Gov. Sarah Palin will indeed enter the GOP field. Rove said chances are she will jump in, but was not definitive in his observation.
"I'm mystified," Rove said about reaction to his speculation. "Look, she is all upset about this saying how I am trying to sabatouge her in some way. How do I speculate on her future."
"Look, if she doesn't want to be speculated about a potential presidential candidate there is an easy way to end the speculation. Simply say 'I'm not running.' Instead, every time she pops up in the public eye like she did on CNN, at the Iowa State fair a short number of days ago. she said 'I haven't made a decision.'"
"I'm just speculating that more likely than not she is going to be a candidate."
"Now I said 'I wouldn't bet a lot of money on it' because it is such a close thing and I am not privy to her thought-making process. But it is sign of enormous thin-skin that if we speculate about her, she gets upset. And I suspect if we didn't speculate about her, she would be upset and getting ways to get us to speculate about her."

I was not and do not parrot the press, my opinion was mine and mine alone. Except for hearing on the news that she had quit I don't remember any discussion in the press about her decision.
Since I formed “my” opinion I discovered that I was far from being alone in my feelings of disappointment. She quit, she walked out on a job that she had been elected to do by a majority of the citizens of Alaska.
You can walk out on anything, a marriage, a business deal, a career but you will have to suffer the consequences.
I would think a person who couldn’t “stick it out” as you put it would have slunk off to obscurity by now. It’s not like the accusations or nastiness have ceased since she quit. So if she quit because she couldn’t take it why is she still in the public arena? She turned the tables on them and got herself in a position where she could defend herself and not deprive her State of adequate representation and attention, pretty cool. I’m no Palinista but I know a hit job when I see one and that’s what the media and the libs have tried to do on her since her first moment on the world stage. Truly I don’t know if she could win the election, and truthfully I’ll vote for anyone who gains the conservative party’s nomination...now if I could just find a conservative party! Regardless of who or what I will vote for whoever runs against Obama.
I too remember the shabby way Rove and the RNC treated Katherine Harris, and as a result, since then, I support the Candidate of my own choice.

Why?
In what way will that knowledge enhance your life?
I don’t understand your sarcasm.
Are you saying Sarah had something to do with that?
What exactly was her role? What did she do?
How can a Governor take responsibility for actions of the Federal government?
Not that she would want to, mind you. IIRC, the feds withheld evidence from the defense and got some folks wrongfully convicted.
In that case, it was the US Attorney that was corrupt.
Conspiracy?
Its called “The News” these days.
When you don’t like what the real news is you take out your wallet and make some of your own.
Palin isn’t a candidate! That is the point Rove was making. Get in and face the people or stop the games. He’s not the only one tired of this from her.
Bush or Reagan didn’t quit when they were beat up constantly in office. Heck, Reagan was still with it after getting shot. Palin is no Reagan, nor is she Bush. To even say that she is more resilient than Bush or Reagan is laughable.
Thank you, it’s very good. Now I can put his name under it and give him credit.
Mail.
You didn’t answer the question. But ya dance real purty.
Yes, and in this case, the consequences had she stayed would have been worse. She'd have the same folks fretting about her abilities, and on top of it, she and her family would be totally bankrupt because the (at that time) $600,000 or so in costs to fight frivolous ethics charges had to come out of her own pocket, and would have been who knows how much bigger had she not stepped aside.
So by now, instead of being a "quitter," she'd be a politician so flaky that she had to declare personal bankruptcy! At least, that's the way people who today call her a "quitter" would see it.
So instead of you arguing, "If she couldn't handle it in Alaska, why should I think she could handle it in the White House?", you'd be arguing, "If she couldn't avoid declaring personal bankruptcy, why should I think she could handle the economy as U.S. President?"
The Democrats who deliberately assaulted her with the ethics charges knew perfectly well that either way, people like you would find something to hold against Palin. It's why they did it. And it's why the law has since been rewritten to prevent it from happening again.
Good heavens, how hard is it to do reality tv and have ghostwritten books written for her? $he ha$ million$ of rea$on$ to do thing$ the way $he did.
“If I am forced to guess, my guess is SP will not get in”
We both know Governor Palin is in. Your posts have already assumed that.
“Romney has already been vetted.”
The Romney clan has been “vetted” since 1964. With his pedigree he didn’t need to be “vetted.” His vetting in ‘08 showed him to be a poor candidate then, and he’s a worse one now. Too soon to write him off? I think it should be obvious to everybody the Romney bid has failed. New Poll on TV this morning trumpeted: Perry new frontrunner at 29%, Romney down to 17%! this is understood by Romney himself, otherwise; he would never have made such a tin-ear move by going forward right now with the mansion tear-down project. Romney is a team player so he will stay in as long as the party machine needs him to stick around to complete the GOP aristocracy-wing’s selection process, but its over for Romney himself.

She discovered the evidence and turned it over to the appropriate prosecutors.
Her predecessors had the same evidence, but chose to conceal it.
Hey CajunClueless, the law is different for POTUS---POTUS has an enormous WH legal team on 24/7 standby, as well as the entire DOJ, to defend him and the office against this kind of nonsense.
In Alaska, Sarah Palin was all alone---even the National GOP hung her out to dry.
So get your facts straight before throwing your crap against the wall in the vain hope that it will stick.
I don't care that he was an Eagle Scout or an Air Force Captain except to acknowledge with sadness that the lessons he could have learned from those experiences have been lost on him.
Your posts on this thread suggest otherwise.
