Karl Rove responds to controversy over his speculation if Fmr. Gov. Sarah Palin will indeed enter the GOP field. Rove said chances are she will jump in, but was not definitive in his observation.
"I'm mystified," Rove said about reaction to his speculation. "Look, she is all upset about this saying how I am trying to sabatouge her in some way. How do I speculate on her future."
"Look, if she doesn't want to be speculated about a potential presidential candidate there is an easy way to end the speculation. Simply say 'I'm not running.' Instead, every time she pops up in the public eye like she did on CNN, at the Iowa State fair a short number of days ago. she said 'I haven't made a decision.'"
"I'm just speculating that more likely than not she is going to be a candidate."
"Now I said 'I wouldn't bet a lot of money on it' because it is such a close thing and I am not privy to her thought-making process. But it is sign of enormous thin-skin that if we speculate about her, she gets upset. And I suspect if we didn't speculate about her, she would be upset and getting ways to get us to speculate about her."

Okay....
Thanks for posting that.....I had it wrong.
Maybe Karl is Afraid of this Sarah? ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qwze4IC6qFQ&feature=related
I saw a video of her from Iowa and she was saying “Ask Todd, We’ve never won a poll but we win elections.” LOL
That may be true in a state of only 710,000 total residents with only 493,000 registered voters. Her endorsed candidate in AK was soundly beaten by a write in campaign. The polls have been saying for months she would lose by a large margin if she was running against 0bama. If you happen to discuss her in a general discussion outside of a conservative political blog, she is not well liked by a lot of people.
EXACTLY.
Reagan didn't declare until Oct - There should a law - no campaigning until one year out.
Most of the candidates - especially congresscritters, spend most of their term campaigning for the next! How 'bout they spend that time DOING THE JOB?
As to Palin, it isn't as though we dont' know who she is or that she needs to be 'vetted."
She's had every aspect of her life under the microscope. There's nothing left to vet.
She's damn smart not to jump in into the dog and pony show going on now.
You are so right. Let the clowns knock each other around and out. Don't climb into the circus ring and becoma just one of the clowns.
Hope she DOES NOT declare on the 3rd! too EARLY!.
Too many people demanding she isn't playing by the establishment rules as to elections. She IS NOT 'establishment" = that's exactly what we need to get loose from.
I’m beginning to see here......if you don’t support every single political move of SP you’re not in good standing with the fan club.
I remember watching the GOP Convention in Kansas City in 1976. I was naturally a strong backer of RR and had done volunteer work in his campaign for the nomination against Jerry Ford.
Then, suddenly, at the convention RR announced he had selected liberal GOP senator from PA-—Dick Schweiker-—to be his running mate. I did not particularly like that pick, but it never diminished my strong support and admiration for RR.
Is it possible to be strong supporter of SP while not supporting every single move she makes? Jeesh....this is beginning to look like a cult of personality.
That is so lame. If she was President she can not be sued. The people running now that are in office are stealing money, they get paid but do not show up for work. I have no rep. she (mb) moved to Iowa.
Youve fallen for Roves spin.
<><><>
Don’t think so, as I been thinking and saying this for quite a while. It was Sarah who put the Aug Sept thing out there in the ether, not anyone else.
If Sarah does not want folks to speculate about her, she has an avenue for that.
But she will do what she will.
Bravo. Thank you for the thoughtful, informative post. Very well stated.
That was great! Thank you! :)
Well there you go, the man is as pure as the wind driven snow < /sarcasm >
But what she objected to was Rove lying about what he knew.
I have it, Karl is Afraid of Girl(s) ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwd-v4S1lbU&feature=related
I cannot predict whether or not SP will enter the GOP presidential race at this time.
I can, however, comfortably predict that if she does, she will not win the GOP nomination.
She will severly impact the campaigns of other Tea Party favorites especially Michelle Bachmann and will suck the wind out of their campaigns.
As the race becomes more down to Perry versus Romney, she will take conservative votes away from Perry therefore helping Romney.
"I will not be a candidate for president in 2011"
All the while knowing he would be...
I just heard the substitute for Rush Limbaugh repeat word for word Rove’s smear that Sarah Palin needs to “Get a thicker skin,”. Of course, the guy (totally forgettable dude by the name of Mark Davis) doesn’t analyze what he says and provides no factual support for it. He just read that Karl Rove said it and it sounded good to him so he repeated it.
Is Rush Limbaugh so hard up for guest hosts that he has to resort to dim bulbs like this? Or does he agree with him?
But that's how ethical people work. They do what's right even if the price tag is high. She had sworn an oath to the people of Alaska, to fulfill her duties to them according to the best of her ability. The onslaught of the Obama/DNC attack machine had put her in a position where she could no longer honestly fulfil that promise. She had to do what was right, and that's what she did. She knew at the time it could have lasting consequences, saying "if I die I die," politically speaking. She did it anyway. Unlike anyone else in this race, she has shown the power to let go of the ring of power, and trust her fate to God. For that, regardless of the outcome, I will always admire her, and in any endeavor seek to emulate her commitment to doing the right thing.
>> “Longer term, I think SP will hurt Rick Perry taking conservative support away from him” <<
.
Perry is no conservative, and none of his supporters are either. He takes votes from Romney or viceversa, but he takes few from Palin.
Palin’s votes will come from voters with a higher moral and functionality standard than the also-rans and RINOs.
The “get’er done” votes will only go to Palin, and if she’s not in, they probably won’t waste their time voting for Rickmit RomPerry.
