Karl Rove responds to controversy over his speculation if Fmr. Gov. Sarah Palin will indeed enter the GOP field. Rove said chances are she will jump in, but was not definitive in his observation.
"I'm mystified," Rove said about reaction to his speculation. "Look, she is all upset about this saying how I am trying to sabatouge her in some way. How do I speculate on her future."
"Look, if she doesn't want to be speculated about a potential presidential candidate there is an easy way to end the speculation. Simply say 'I'm not running.' Instead, every time she pops up in the public eye like she did on CNN, at the Iowa State fair a short number of days ago. she said 'I haven't made a decision.'"
"I'm just speculating that more likely than not she is going to be a candidate."
"Now I said 'I wouldn't bet a lot of money on it' because it is such a close thing and I am not privy to her thought-making process. But it is sign of enormous thin-skin that if we speculate about her, she gets upset. And I suspect if we didn't speculate about her, she would be upset and getting ways to get us to speculate about her."

You can slime and trash my wife all you like if that makes you happy. My wife is not into politics nor is she staunch conservative Republican like me. Before she used to vote mostly for Democrats-—people like Clinton, Gore, and Kerry. She just went through the motions. She’s Hispanic and comes from strong Democrat family. She supported Hillary Clinton in 2008. After BHO won the Democrat Party nomination she voted Republican for the first time and since left the Democrat Party and is now an independent. I don’t control her politics.
Your link is to the CBS website.
Then, when checking the PAC website, there is still nothing about anyone being “upset”. What does informing one’s supporters that your political enemy is spreading disinformation about your campaign have to do with “upset”?
Rove’s pathetic attempt to associate Governor Palin with the negative connotation of the word “upset” is laughable.
It’s not just a liberal talking point though. Some of us have issues with it as it pertains to being able to stick it out when the going get’s tough.
“Sorry buddy, but looked to me like SP was staging a retreat. I prefer to be on offense at all times.”
You would stay on the field of battle and die?
When you could retreat, reload and hit the enemy from another position?
Not much of a Gen there bub.
I like Palin but haven’t decided who after that. I’m still learning about the others. I have no TV or newspaper so my info source is FR. There’s a LOT of hatred and anger on the threads. It’s hard to sift through.
Tokyo Rove, trying to stay relevant and failing.
I think Rove needs to be “hated” in order to feel like he still is a kingmaker. He isn’t.
Rove is the sole source of these claims that that statement refers to him. The linkage exists only because Rove is busy telling anyone who will listen that it is about him.
Unfortunately the facts don't seem to match Rove's ego.
This statement alone shows you are NOT a big fan of SP, as you stated in your original post.
Sarah did NOT retreat. Within two weeks of resigning, Sarah came out on offense. Remember "Death Panels." That was pure Sarah. She has NEVER retreated in the face of the evil left.
She resigned and took it right to the RATs, throwing them completely off their game. In her 32 months in office, she accomplished all she stated in her inaugural speech for Governor. She left the State in good hands, while she continued the fight against the left.
She has a big hand in the wins in 2010. Read her book -- you will clearly see she is a tenacious fighter, quite strong and brilliant.
I don’t think SP would have “died” if she finished out her term as governor of Alaska.
And quite frankly I think she would be the GOP frontrunner today if she hadn’t resigned.
IT WAS A BIG MISTAKE THAT HAS COST HER POLITICALLY
Of course she did. The cost escalated beyond the ability of donations to cover.
I love that one!
I read Going Rogue and loved it.
Too bad SP could not tranfer some her popularity in Alaska to Joe Miller.
Karl is afraid of this Lady? Karl, needs to talk to Americans, not talk at Americans ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CyuDqW5CYJA

Well then, that would place you at odds with another, rather famous American general, one George Washington. It seems he was rather fond of the strategic retreat, as it kept his men and his chances alive, when a headlong charge into British bullets and bayonets would been suicidal, though according to some here on FR the suicidal approach would have made him more electable. Oh, wait ...
In fact, she handled political heat SO well that she ended up putting corrupt politicians from her own party in JAIL.
The heat that forced her to resign was FINANCIAL. At the time -- if I understand correctly, Alaska law has since been changed -- laws in Alaska required that she pay, out of her own pocket, the expenses of answering even the most frivolous lawsuits. Democrats DELIBERATELY deluged her with such lawsuits, to the tune that PERSONAL expenses, and she was prohibited from even relying on a defense fund set up by her supporters, amounted to more than half a million dollars.
So she could either resign and side-step the quicksand trap, OR bankrupt herself and her family, and have THAT stain on her record. Had that happened, no doubt you and Gen. Burkhalter's wife would be objecting to her on the grounds of, "Gee, if she couldn't avoid personal bankruptcy, how is she going to handle financial responsibility on national scale?"
BOTTOM LINE: Palin detractors have to be devious and misrepresent the truth in their attempt to get people not to support Palin.
That tells more about Palin than the resignation itself. Look at her enemies and how they fight -- with falsehoods and deception. That should tell you a lot.
“big mistake that cost her”>>>>
I agree with that statement and I have been slapped up side the head (here on FR) for saying it. I felt like I had been punched in the stomach when I heard she was quitting. I still like her but if she could not figure a way to stand up to her detractors, whether they were lawyers or media slimes, how could she ever stand up to the rest of the world as president of the US. I am hoping that she will not enter the race but be out there to support our nominee, who ever it may be.
