Silicon Valley legend Steve Jobs on Wednesday resigned as chief executive of Apple Inc in a stunning move at the technology giant he co-founded in a garage.

Thanks Steve, you made my transition into the personal computer very easy. Could never understand why you leaned to the left, though. You embody all that we conservatives stand for, fiscally.
It came installed and I dont have to buy a new one every six months.
Did you see that movie? “Pirates of the Silicon Valley’? That film pretty well firmed up my opinion about Gates. Unfortunately his product became the most affordable; that is why he made it big while Jobs has been the true visionary.
Life is not fair...but paybacks are hell.
Prayers indeed!
My aren’t we touchy..
Well said. He did that for many.
The article makes it pretty clear he doesn't wave it any anyone's face. He doesn't talk about his personal life and doesn't appear to be in a relationship. It doesn't look like he has time--he starts emailing underlings at 4:30 in the morning and prides himself on being the last one out of the office at night.
If Steve Jobs had anything to do with his appointment, you’re probably right
Jobs said in his letter that he “strongly recommended” Cook to be his successor.
No, I haven't seen it yet, but will definitely put it on my list. Thanks!
I remember wondering why anyone would purchase anything created by Gates, but then quickly realized the imbalance between what I wanted and what I could afford.
Friends of mine in Europe have asked me many times why any American would own anything made by Microsoft. In the case of my friends, it's not European snobbery as much as a fear of viruses and wasting money and time with crashes. LOL, it kind of reminds me of many Americans' fear of buying a Yugo.
I feel sorry for him. I have watched my patients with pancreatic cancer die. It is terrible. Money can not buy you health or happiness. I really am sad. But no more sad for him than the guy who works for Tyson for 10.00 that I took care of that died of the same disease. It is terrible.
If a company relies on one man so much, it was a house of cards to begin with.
That is always true, of all of us.
It’s an excellent movie and from what I found out it was fairly accurate. It was released several years ago on TBS (tv movie). I’m not sure where it is available but if you find it you will definitely enjoy it.
This is the comparison:
Microsoft: Ford Focus
Apple: Cadillac
The evidence in that article would point just as much to a workaholic asexual.
My sympathy for you in what must be a very difficult time when one of your patients is found to have pancreatic cancer.
My Dad had a stroke and was admitted to a hospice where it seemed like there was an epidemic of pancreatic cancer patients and also ALS patients coming in regularly. I asked the nurses if they ever tracked the rates of pancreatic cancer and ALS because to me the rates of admission seemed very high compared to other patients.
One good thing I noticed was that just like many patients in hospice, the pancreatic cancer patients stayed on a bit longer than the initial time projected by their doctors and according to their families.
For example one guy I remember was only supposed to live a few days yet I saw him walking around with his fluid stand, and heard him laughing out loud for weeks whenever his sis and brother visited. He was there for nearly a month and only in the last few days was he in bed 24/7.
Watching otherwise desperately ill patients enjoy life in their "extra" time was miraculous to me. My prayer will always be that there will be a cure.
I am unaware of any reason which would make Apple collapsing today and going out of business tomorrow a plausible outcome of today's sad announcement.
Thanks. I will search to see if I can find it.
Heh, I have never driven a Ford Focus and wonder if you're being too generous. Otherwise, although I have never owned one, I love driving a Cadillac so it's an excellent analogy. :)
That's what SHE said......
Thank you. He has battled so hard with his illness.
