So there are dangerous faults on the east coast. I knew about the Madrid fault...but I wasn’t aware of those on the east coast. Yikes.

Spotsylvania Lineament running right up through VA has long been suspected to be a buried "fossil" earthquake fault. The tremor today was right on the lineament.
There's a lot of interesting geology buried under miles of sediment in VA and NC. A bunch of terranes linked up here eons ago and the sutures are still down there. It looks like they are unquiet.
