Here’s another way to think of this: The speculation she’ll announce on 9/3 is so out of control that if 9/3 comes and she doesn’t announce there will be serious disappointment. Therefore, if you’re the bad guys, you get in on this speculation and push it to certainty, because then you force her hand, such that she has to declare then or risk damage. Next thing you know Singleton is out there intentionally lowering expectations, with the effect that Sarah regains control of the timing. Skilled play. Just a thought.
I like your thinking but this Singleton guy was a downer on his thread. He has a podcast/interview wherein he truly lowered hopes and expectations.....
I don’t have the link handy right now, but I can find it.
You make a good point, that Sarah may have suddenly been put into the position of wresting back control of her own strategy and timing by having Singleton put a damper on everyone's expectations.
Given the firestorm of speculation, though, they've got a lot of work to do, to tamp it all down. They've only got two weeks to do it, if that is indeed their intent.
It still begs the question of why Sarah would allow her "Iowa Passion" video to be released right now. Her political instincts are second to none, so she surely would have predicted the effect that release would create. That's the whole basis for the elevated certainty that she's planning to announce on September 3rd.
Mixed signals, anyone?
