I’m not “afraid” of Palin. I’m afraid of a Goldwater-esque loss that would neuter the conservative movement for decades.
Go walk down the street and ask random people about Palin. Report the results.
I might just do that (though I doubt that you have). In the meantime, I'll take note of what I'm seeing in the real world, as viewed through the portal of the internet.
Through that 'all-seeing-eye', it's obvious that no other political figure on the national stage commands as much attention, nor has the enormous drawing power or influence of Sarah Palin. None.
No other politician has the depth and breadth of grass roots support that she does. None.
It's sad to see, that in such a time as this, that you would choose to support some candidate who you deem as 'safe'. You fear a Goldwater, just when our history demands that such a person rise to the challenge?
If that's so, then you are without courage, and fail to see that this nation is irrevocably moving toward a great collision of ideologies - no matter who is elected next year. I'd rather maintain my personal integrity and push for the very best person to answer that challenge, than help to put someone in office who will do little to lead our people in the fight to restore this nation.
