As the U.S. economy takes hit after hit, President Obama is taking heat for his 10-day fun-in-the-sun vacation at Martha's Vineyard that began Thursday.
From the left: Colbert I. King, op-ed writer for The Washington Post, observed: "Mr. President, Martha's Vineyard is the last place in the world you should visit. ... You simply don't have time to take time off from America."
From the right: Mike Murphy, a Republican strategist, told the Daily Beast that Obama is "acting like the rich guys he wants to raise taxes on."
From The Donald: Obama "takes more vacations than any human being I've ever seen," Donald Trump told Greta Van Susteren on Fox News. "I think it sends a very, very bad message. We have to work in this country to bring it back."
Scott Stanzel, a former deputy assistant and deputy White House press secretary for President George W. Bush, says, "At a time when most Americans can barely afford a vacation that doesn't involve pitching a tent in their backyard, President Obama is not doing himself any public relations favors by choosing to vacation in one of the country's most exclusive and expensive destinations."
Stanzel, who now runs a public relations firm in Seattle, sums it up this way: "Images matter."

Has anyone tabulated the total number of vacation days the Impostor-In-Chief and compared to what past Presidents?
Remember when some of the more apocalyptic people here were suggesting that Obama was the Anti-Christ? Clearly false. Obama doesn’t have the work ethic to be the Anti-Christ.
“The strategy of the left must make the failures of the agenda Obamas personal failures and shortcomings and not a repudiation of socialism.”
That’s an excellent point, one I hadn’t seen raised before. And I agree. It explains the sharpening of the knives by Pravda.
90 in the first two years? For some reason that number seems incredibly low for the O-hole. It seems like he is always taking another vacation.
Define working vacation. From what I remember it didn’t seem like Bush 43 was that much on vacation based on the number that I read. Maybe the media didn’t criticize him or make it a big issue because was working during those times.
Well, when you add in the hours upon days he spends at the golf course....
I’m sure it equals or even surpasses W’s numbers.
And as we know, there is nothing to do in Crawford but work. Quite a different story when the elitist Kenyan spends 10 days in Martha’s Vineyard.
Obama should have vacationed in the ever so pleasing climes of Detroit, Philly, or Chicago. Places where liberal ideas of dependency, support for criminals, resentment of those who have more, and hopelessness run the show.
Lots of great postcards potentials there...
Obama could have posed with a gang of flash mobbers - their arms full of snack food, beer, and makeup - faces partly covered with hoodies... Or parents standing in line outside liberal lawyer's offices - waiting to file objections to being turned down for 'Disability'... Or with the children who have been taken away from their drug addicted mothers... That's always a great shot...
Oh well, Maxine will have to make do with 30 white liberal elite children - or is that 31?
By their definition - through the lens of the MSM - Obama is NOT taking that many vacation days.
Of course they twist truth into a lie when defending 'teacher's pets' liberals. This issue is one more example of that...
President Bush often worked from his ranch. WORKED. He wasn't eating ice cream and biking around an island. But the press - who hated Bush because he was a Republican - counted it as 'vacation'. It's the opposite with Obama. He's goes to Hawaii and plays - the press doesn't count it. He golfs all the time - the press doesn't care. The only thing Obama can talk about without a teleprompter is sports - the 'MSM' misses this... they referred to Bush as a jock - but no such words fall from their mouths when talking about Obama.
So don't fall for their bull - many ways to lie - and the press knows them all.
30 1/2?
Dana Perino last night on The Five explained how they count vacation days as days not in the White House. Bush spent time at his ranch with a lot of foreign dignitudes.
