The libertarian presidential candidate nearly beat Michele Bachmann in the Iowa straw poll, but the press barely saw fit to mention it
In Saturday's Iowa straw poll, libertarian GOP candidate Ron Paul nearly emerged victorious, coming within less than one percentage point of the winner, Michele Bachmann. Of course, you'd hardly know it given the media's reporting, which focused on Bachmann's rise and Tim Pawlenty's disappointing third-place finish. The Daily Show even devoted a segment to the near press black-out on Monday night, with Jon Stewart asking "How did libertarian Ron Paul become the 13th floor in a hotel?"

I have never used drugs but I know people who do including some family members. I believe many and possibly all of them would enthusiastically campaign for Ron Paul should they sober up long enough to realize he was for legalizing their drug of choice.
I hate too say this, but the US is already involved in the global community.
It won’t change. We are already too intermingled to change at this point. Case in point...look at the stock market. Europe or Asia goes down..so do we. And vice-versa.
Far to late to become isolationist.
I have a question..these Bilderburger folks. If they are so “secret” why do we know where their meetings are and who is attending?
The last time Ron Paul ran as an Independent he got the nomination resulting in a whopping 0.5% of the popular vote and 0 electoral votes. I remember that election well and Paul got media attention commensurate with the number of votes he received -- kinda like now.
This is a well-written piece about the differences between Conservatives and purist Libertarians, specifically, Ron Paul:
Its Conservatism Stupid! (Or, Why I Wont EVER Support Ron Paul)
Lazlo - I sent that article link again to you, sorry! I didn’t see you were on this thread and everyone else were people I hadn’t seen before. I remember you liked it - every time I see a RP fan on here, I just feel compelled to post that article :-)))))
I don’t recall him running as an independent, remind me.
Don’t worry about it. It is a piece worth spreading around.
I’m a little afraid of him! I consider him a weird dude!
Ron Paul is a harmless old man. He will never be president and he has already announced that he will not seek reelection to another term in the House. He’ll be but a memory soon.
Who?

I take Ron Paul very seriously.
The simple fact is that there is no other GOP candidate who is correct on as many issues as Ron Paul.
Because he's NOT an illuminati finger puppet.
They ignore him because he would steal votes from the Democrats.
Like Ernest T. Bass throwing rocks at the Sheriff’s window, the best advice sometimes is to just ignore the nut. And Paul is the Ernest T. Bass of the political arena.

> Why is the media ignoring Ron Paul?
Ron who?
I remember my liberaltarian brother lamenting about Ron Paul recently, “If only people would listen to him, nobody wants war (i.e. Defending ourselves), people want drugs legalized, etc.” Newsflash Paul has been a candidate for awhile now, If RP wants his campaign to take off it’s up to him he’s not the only candidate that’s hated by the media. For example, Palin is despised, but the media pays attention to her. Why? Because she has a large following not just a handful of diehards who spam online polls, and pack in for a straw poll.
I don’t know if Bilderberg is “secret” or “secretive” or what.
I just know that they’re the worst known Globalist Group.
I immediately rule out anyone who has attended.
The only Republican Candidate to attend Bilderberg is Rick Perry.
So
BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Rick Perry, you’re out.
