"Rick Perry. I think he would slice Obama up like shredded pork and have him for a Texas barbeque."
"Well, to start with, Perry is a man's man, while Obama is a metrosexual, a girlie-man. Perry is 100% American, Obama is 100%... Something else. In 2008, the energy and passion was pro-Obama; in 2012, the energy and passion will be anti-Obama, which Perry could personify as he'll go for Obama's jugular like Romney could never do.
"But there's another reason why I'm excited about Perry that is far more fundamental than all of this, even the economy. The only possible way I see to truly cut the federal government down to size, is for the states via the 10th Amendment to do the cutting, to take chunks of power away from it. A President Perry would be uniquely positioned to lead his fellow Republican governors in a crusade to do this."
"That is a very interesting and persuasive argument - the best I've heard for Perry," I mused. "Perry, as the most successful sitting governor in the country and chairman of the Republican Governors Association, would naturally focus his campaign on the success of states with Republican governors like him..."
We began ticking them off: Christie in New Jersey, McDonnell in Virginia, Kasich in Ohio, Scott Walker in Wisconsin, Rick Snyder in Michigan, Rick Scott in Florida, Mitch Daniels in Indiana, Bobby Jindal in Louisiana, Nikki Haley in South Carolina, Tom Corbett in Pennsylvania - 29 out of 50 now.
"... And focus by contrast on the failure of states with Dem governors, like California, Illinois, and Minnesota. He'd bring all these GOP govs, his current colleagues, into a lead campaign role, and make 10th Amendment freedom of states from Washington control a major campaign theme."

Very interesting and worth reading. Maybe this is why Rove and other Republican liberals hate Rick Perry. The 10th Amendment...using it to limit Washington’s power and taxation of the various states
AS usual, Jack Wheeler is RIGHT ON!
BIG Jack Wheeler/To the Point News BUMP!!!!
Like Edwin Edwards said, the only way he would lose the election is if they found him in bed with a dead girl or a live boy.
Given Obama’s approval rating of 26% I think anyone “could slice Obama up like shredded pork and have him for barbeque.”
This is no time for party politics as usual. We need to field the very best Conservative to head the ticket. Perry is big government/globalist RINO. His record belies his election year rhetoric.
I just got done watching the speech of his on YouTube and it's excellent. Kind of long (18 minutes), but worth it.
Rick Perry: The Left Is “Never Going To Like Us, So Let's Stop Trying To Curry Favor With Them”

You don't know how long I've been waiting to hear a Conservative finally say that!!! I remember the incredible frustration I felt when President Bush wouldn't stick up for himself, and then seeing members of the house get the same treatment from Reid and Pelosi. Grrrr...... Hearing Gov Perry the past week has been wonderful. Finally someone who will stand up for what they believe and call the left out on the lies and deceptions.
Sorry for hijacking.
Not in Texas. Those bad boys use cow meat, right?
Wierd.
You sure Jack wrote this?
As a subscriber to Jack’s forum “To The Point News” I didn’t recall it being written and can’t find it on his site.
Can’t imagine he’d write something and not put it on his site.
I keep seeing people here call Perry a RINO, yet the positions of his I’ve seen so far all appear to be pretty solidly conservative. What is it that makes you call him a RINO?
The only problem with his list of Republican governors is that Kasich and Walker have very low approval ratings in their states.
That’s right. Texas barbecue is beef.
Perry is a politician. I have never met him, but his parents live 15 miles from me. I know them and they are long time residents of Haskell County where I live. Their ancestors moved here in 1887, I am told. Some of my ancestors moved to this county in 1889. Other of my ancestors were born in Texas during the Republic.
I have my differences with some of Rick’s actions, but he is no Lib and has always been a fiscal conservative.
But most important, Rick Perry is a Texan. That is something that is important.
“Texas is not where you were born, but a State of Mind, Heart and Attitude.” It goes something like this: “Leave us alone to live our lives in peace and we will get along fine, if that is not satisfactory, we will deal with it.”
It is an authentic article, Vendome. It was published right after Jack’s trip to England for the unveiling of the Reagan statue in London. This article was published on Thursday, July 7. You can read it here: http://www.tothepointnews.com/content/view/4588/2/
I can live with a Tea Party Congress and a President Perry. The Texas Lege checked Perry’s more rhinoish tendencies and furthered his better impulses. Let’s make the future of the USA look more like Texas, and less like Chicago! Perry for Pesident, Tea Partiers for Congress! My motto: VOTE HOBBIT! Rebellion is brewing, as Jim Rob says.
The governor in Texas is largely a ceremonial position that signs bills. In fact, it’s the weakest governor position in the country. The Lt. Governor is the real power in Texas and this is by design. Perry will need to overcome this with much more than talk.
I completely missed that article.
I don’t remember it.
Thanks.
