Aren't these the same a**hats that banned bugs bunny, porky pig, Yosemite Sam and others because the cartoons were "too violent?" The ones they ran in for replacements were always more violent than the ones they banned and now you have sex and other crap thrown in too boot. However, let an old WWII bugs bunny cartoon run in which Japs are called Japs, at a time when they were killing millions of people all over the world and the lefties freak out.

Modern Cartoons are just another way for the left to tear the moral fabric of our society apart and replace it with the state. Typical communist tactic.

Gee, a TV channel called "Adult Swim" shows adult TV! Who'd a thunk it?

And, contrary to the assertion in this article, Adult Swim meticulously tags all their shows with the appropriate parental advisory ratings. Almost any modern TV has a control feature that allows a parent to block shows at any guidance level. And for the rest, there's something called an "off" switch, I believe.

Didn’t we go through this like 20 years ago when the Simpsons came out? Animated doesn’t mean it’s for kids. Jesus, people. PARENT. It’s a verb.

Adult Swim

Adult Swim doesn't air during prime-time (unless you're getting a satellite feed for another time-zone) and as the name indicates, it isn't intended for children.

Oops, just read through your post and it is actually my own view.

Nothing good happens after 1 am. It’s late.

Children should be seen and not heard, nor heard about.

The worst “cartoon” I have seen in recent history is the Family Guy episode where Stewie and Brian were locked in the Bank Vault.

You have to see it to believe it, no kidding.

Actually, no, I haven’t but I know what they are like now and I know what they were like back in the day. Back in the day cartoons win out in my book.

Seriously. That episode is SO. BORING. Had such potential and just... wasted it.

But they did do this: http://www.hulu.com/watch/111154/family-guy-quagmire-goes-off

And for that, I can’t hate them.

I have to agree, that's a winner. I had forgotten all about that one. Quagmire is the most misunderstood of all the characters, LOL.

I think the eating poo thing in the Bank Vault episode was my limit though. Even the episode that had the entire Family projectile vomiting was humorous.

If I’m not mistaken, every cable box has the option of blocking channels. We used to do it all the time, when our kids were little.

You couldn't be more wrong about South Park.

Of course you know what the new cartoons are like. I beg your pardon, reason being it is quite late here and I have no business even being awake. Most here know that kids are targeted in the corruption of culture.

Taking parenting as a verb, I sneak a peek at them occasionally, and as an english teacher, I grant requests very occasionally for levity, and with an educational purpose I just play Looney Tunes (sp?).

When high schoolers are informed that Mel Blanc does all the voices from Daffy to Porky to Yosemite Sam, they just marvel. They think they (the kids) have the corner on humor, and they are encouragingly witty and amusing, but they are appropriately humbled and inspired by the old masters.

That’s not possible anymore.

If one is on the dole: one has to accept the download.

You make it sound like viewers these days can just turn the TV OFF.

South Park is an exception to the rule. However, it is full of vulgar crap, even though it portrays leftists as evil and stupid, it uses profanity and strong sexual content. South Park is actually not meant for children. When I say Cartoon, I mean Cartoons aimed at children.
