Gov. Rick Perry scorched the political pot on Tuesday with a red-hot rhetorical attack on Fed-head Ben Bernanke. When asked about the Fed reopening the monetary spigots, Perry said, If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I dont know what yall would do to him in Iowa, but we we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas. And that wasnt all. In a more controversial slam, Perry said, Printing more money to play politics at this particular time in American history is almost treacherous or treasonous in my opinion.

Thank God Perry has the guts to say what must be said now. The rest of the GOP is still out looking for their gonads without any success including Boner.
Rush said that Donald Trump showed the blueprint on how to deal with the Democrats - you tell it like it is and don’t whitewash it. It is refreshing to hear.
I think it was a nice warning shot.
Spot on!
So did the Tea Party confrontations over Obamacare. D.C. elites are useless.
Bravo, Perry!
To engage in QE1, QE2 and possibly QE3...each time ravaging and devaluing the currency of your own nation, relied upon by your fellow citizens for the betterment of their lives...is most certainly treasonous.
All of the liberals gassing up a storm in outrage and all of the television pundits tut-tutting Perry’s comments as ‘harsh’ or ‘unfair’ do not comprehend the seriousness of what is happening to our country or feel guilty for not speaking up themselves earlier. A pox on them.
David Stockman unloads on the Fed on Bloomberg today. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVMx-RnNHWM
The lamestream airheads were shocked and wanted the guests to fight rather than blast Benny and the Pretenders. Perry shot across the bow of the sinking QE Fed to stay out of politics eventhough they already said they would stand pat until mid 2013. No help coming from the Fed for Obama.
I hear that Rick Perry is the only man that disagres with Bernanke and Obama’s economic policy and that it’s a virtual fact that every other Republican contender gives hugs and kisses to Timothy Geithner and tucks bernanke into bed at night while whispering to him how much they love his economic policies.
Thank God we have a true conservative willing to make such remarks. I hear that Ben plans to hold a press conferance and release his birth certificate immediately due to the overwhelming pressure he’s feeling.
Precisely!
Hope Perry doesn’t fold like Trump. For a brief shining moment Trump appeared to be confronting the commie....then something made him drop his sabre .....
Perry’s positives will not be affected by the opposition research; Gardisil, TTC, Hate crimes distortions - as long as he keeps firing at the Dems and the One.
I would love to see a GOP debate where Perry, Gingrich et.al go after BO exclusively and not pull a Tim Pawlenty. That would be worth watching!!!!
Perry said, "If this guy prints more money between now and the election, I don't know what y'all would do to him in Iowa, but we -- we would treat him pretty ugly down in Texas."
He’s not the only one that disagrees. Just the only one that can articulate the issue so that everyone understands it, forcing the MSM to sharpen focus.
The Big Boys are back now, having observed the fruitless bickering since 2008. The straight talk express is Rick Perry. He is no RINO. Palin and Bachman cant win. Perry/Romney can win. I saw the FIRST McCain-Palin rally in Wash.PA and have the shirts...my son,15,wants to go to another one...folks...
Adjust to it.
I don’t know if I can support Perry at this point because one of my non-negotiable issues is no amnesty and no tolerance for illegals. But I congratulate him on his threat to the Fed, that Bernanke better not print any money up to the election. It was hilarious that the White House responded in defense of the “independence” of the Fed. The Fed is absolutely notorious in its tailoring of policy for political favor before and during elections. It is a travesty that such enormous power has been vested in a non-constitutional body, composed of non-elected individuals. We have given them the power to “print” unlimited amounts of our currency, to their supposedly “independent” purposes. Unbelievable.
“....... So in this sense Governor Perrys red-hot riposte at Bernanke may be shrewd politics, as well as a much needed defense of stable money.
The former Air Force captain piloted C-130 missions in Central and South America, North Africa, and all over Europe. Hes a fierce devotee of American exceptionalism and greatness. My hunch is, just like Ronald Reagan, Governor Perry views a collapsing-dollar threat as more evidence of American decline. And he is very much opposed to any of that.”
Bump!
For Larry Kudlow to provide intellectual support of Governor Perry's choice of words on this topic as not extreme nor unwarranted is terrific. Good luck libs with your hoped for tactic of painting simple fiscal common sense as right wing extremist terrorism. The American people get it and you are the losers.
