Elections Results from the AP
August 16 Wisconsin recall election results from the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
44EAGLE RIVER, Wis (Reuters) - Voters in two Wisconsin State Senate districts head to the polls on Tuesday in the last of nine recall elections triggered by the fight earlier this year over Republican-backed curbs on the union rights of public workers.
In Tuesday's two final special elections, Jim Holperin and Robert Wirch -- two Democrats who opposed the anti-union measure and even fled the state for weeks in an unsuccessful effort to prevent its passage -- are defending their seats.
Holperin seems to be in the tighter race. His rival is Kim Simac, founder of the Northwoods Patriots, a Tea Party group. Though Simac is a political novice, the district has leaned Republican in the three years since Holperin was elected.
No matter who wins, Republican Governor Scott Walker and his Republican allies will retain control of the legislature, where the battle over public workers' union powers was waged earlier this year with public protests, legislative maneuvering and court challenges.
With seven of the nine recalls over, Republicans have managed to keep control of the state senate -- 17 to 16 if they score no wins on Tuesday -- because Democrats failed to unseat three Republican state Senators in the key round of six GOP senate recalls last week.
By the time the 2012 elections roll around, we will finally have Voter ID in place.
We will also be seeing even more benefits from what Governor Walker has done.
Tonight is a disappointment, to say the least.
But we will continue the fight.
Thanks for your support, and thanks to all the other FReepers who were pulling for us!
What’s with Florence & Lincoln? So far not one single precinct has been reported! And the RATs complain about Waukesha County!
Great positive attitude. The rest of us are solidly in your/Walker’s corner.

Yeah no kidding. They’re probably stupid Dem counties printing votes for an election they’ve already won.
Bumpkis on their county sites too. Oneida’s last precinct just showed so it’s just these guys now.
Very disappointing tonight, but the fact that the Republicans retain control of congress and Governor Walker has a chance to make real progress there is quite amazing in itself.
:)
Well they did vote for Obama didn't they...ignorant, mindless, easily mislead fools of the highest order..all of them!...and now this...it's just never ending stupidity!
Too many vote if they "like" a candidate, who haven't a clue about what they themself want to see in their governance...let alone if a candidate lines up even remotely with their ideas.
If we acted like the dems we’d start recall petitions on every dem as soon as it is possible. No reason for it, just because they exist. Like they did to 6 of our guys.
I hope this loss and the 2 GOP seats lost last week, inspire our guys to go all out, fighting harder than ever against the socialists here in WI.
We will have Voter ID next time around. They will keep many means of fraud, but the Voter ID will help.
I thought we’d win one of them. 2 would have been heavenly.
You bet. Where’s all the screaming & hollering from DimTurds about Florence & Lincoln sitting on their votes.... just to make sure the margin of victory is secured for the RAT bastard. I was disappointed by the results tonight.....now I’m just getting angy & pissed off the more I think about this POS recall election tonight. WTF happened, especially after the stunning victories last week and I would have thought all kinds of momentum & intensity would have flowed from last week into the dimTurd recall elections tonight!!! Now I am pissed off.

Trust folks will remember THAT was a great victory and the one that mattered most.....moving forward then.
Get that voter ID done in the fall, I wouldn’t be surprised to see another recall campaign once the rest of the members reach the one year point.
Thank you.
It is truly amazing that we even have a conservative governor. And what he has accomplished is mind blowing.
We suffered 2 terms under Gov.Doyle. ARG.
Electing Ron Johnson as Senator last November, and kicking Russ Feingold to the curb was especially delightful.
We will take our lumps tonight and fight on.
These socialists are hard to get rid of.
The state’s teachers union headquarters, WEAC, laid off 40 percent of their “workers” this week. Now that is sweet victory right there. Seems they are not getting many voluntary union dues! Go figure! Hee Hee.
It would have been nice to at least win one more seat.
Voter ID will really change the whole demographic...for the better!
Maybe some eyes will be opened when better policies for everyone are put into place!
We must fight as hard as they do.
I say recall them all.
Baffle them with bullshirt.
Dazzle them with brilliance.
Throw the Rats out ASAP.
Yes, Voter ID is key. That is why Gov.Doyle the Boil would not let it pass.
We have the easiest state in the union to commit fraud in.
One can actually show up with no ID, no bills showing your address, nothing,,,,and have someone come with you to “vouch” for you, and say Yes, this person lives here and can vote here.
The fraud is rampant.
Yep. This is a decade-long war. There’ll be a lot of battles.
Sounds very “Texas-like”...in a good way, of course! :)
And we’re surprised when they win under those conditions?
Geeeez...look forward to seeing honest elections again! :)
