Exactly. It’s that opportunism that just reeks. And the knee-jerk response of those rationalizing it with, “Don’t hate the player, hate the game,” doesn’t cut it with me, either. Time to change the players AND the game. That’s why I’m backing Palin. She’s working on a whole new level and pissing off all the right people.

Right. When one counts Karl Rove and James Carville as enemies, one must be doing something, or very much right.

Amazing. Charles is still vehemently insisting that Perry wasn't lying when he said "Gore wasn't known as Mr. Global Warming” in 1988, even AFTER we provided documented proof that Gore was one of the earliest global warming alarmists in Washington and started holding "the sky is falling" hearing about global warming and environmental catastrophes as early as 1976. During the 1980s, any news outlet that wanted to discuss global warming would have immediately sought out Al Gore as the foremost Washington Senator on the issue. Even a squish like George H. Bush poked fun at Gore for being obsessed with tree-hugging at that time. It says volumes that the FIRST President Bush (not W.), used to refer to Gore was "Ozone man".

As for his Internet "discovery", Gore made the "I invented the Internet" (yes, I'm paraphrasing, but Gore took credit for it) comment in 1999, but if you had asked Gore in '88 if he created the Internet, you better believe he'd take credit for it. The man hasn't changed one bit, he's always liked to puff up his resume and claim expertise on computer technology. Gore just didn't announce this "fact" until the Internet was widespread enough that claiming credit for it got him votes. Gore seems to be about as honest as Perry when it comes to fudging the historical record.
